Is the most economic route through Nashville, or has anyone found tix directly into Knoxville at a reasonable price?

Looking to fly out of either Austin or SA.

If you are in San Antonio I recommend driving to Knoxville and stopping at the snake farm in New Braunfels. You are on your own for entertaining yourself for the other 16 hours.

If you're considering Nashville, might as well look at Atlanta or Charlotte. Not much farther away, and airline hubs.

I live outside of Knoxville.

Whenever going to an Aggie game, I drive.

Flights out of / into Knoxville are too $$; I've flown out of / into Nashville and Atlanta - Nashville is a little less annoying than Atlanta. I hate airports anyhow, and would rather always drive.

Drive it. In the 1990s I drove north Texas to Knoxville regularly in one day, no problem. I would drive home to north Texas Friday afternoon after work and then drive back to Knoxville Sunday afternoon after lunch. Now that I've gotten older I sometimes break trip up into 2 days. Driving is a lot cheaper and you have your vehicle so you save car rental expense.

Definitely fly to Nashville and make the 2.5 hour drive over to Knoxville. You can even stop off a little over halfway at the new Buc-ee's in Crossville, TN. Flying in/out of Knoxville is $$$.

We are flying into Tri-Cities from DFW. Check that out. We're flying out of Nashville, Sunday. Tri-Cities is a little closer and and the drive should be pretty with maybe fall color.

Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte - all beautiful drives... a ton of big trucks either way.

Atlanta, the airport is South of the city and you have to drive through Atlanta traffic and possibly Chattanooga traffic to get to Knoxville.

Nashville, the airport is East of the city - some traffic over the plateau - really pretty drive - and Buccee's in Crossville.

I have never flown into Charlotte - over the mountains to get to Knoxville - adds an extra hour of drive time. You will also drive by a brand-new Buccee's in Sevierville.

Tri-Cities airport is tiny - never flown in there.

Knoxville airport is really convenient and nice - it is also expensive - Uber and car rental is easy from the airport. For weekend trips, I pay the extra cash to save the time.

Last year, JSX did nonstop flights out of Love (and maybe Hobby) direct to away games. We'll see if they do it again this year.

Only issue is that they get there a few hours before kickoff and leave a couple hours after the game.

Have you done this? Last year, I thought about it for Miami and decided to find a hotel instead and drive, but was curious about it.

Or, you just send Zooguy a message to pick you up from the airport in Knoxville cause it's like 20 minutes away.

We are driving from Dallas to Memphis day one and then Memphis to Knoxville day two. About six hours each leg of the trip. If you have the time, I definitely recommend this. We've done if before and it's not bad at all.

Amazes me that people actually plan a trip so that they can stop at Buc-ees.

The year was 1980'ish and a middle school/high school team was returning home on a bus trip from what probably was an arse kicking. The coach thought to himself what would cheer up the boys after getting their teeth kicked in when he passed the snake farm sign and the final piece of the puzzle fell into place. The team took in all the sights which I recall was a giant cement pit filled with rattlesnakes. The second, less awesome attraction was some pens in the back with a buffalo and I think a camel and possibly some goats.

Yelp Review 10/10 no notes.

Keep your wired going snake farm. RIP the diving pig of Aquarina Springs!

Been looking around. Very expensive, horrible flight times and poor conections.

Got DIRECT flights on Allegient out of Austin for less than $500/ea. Departing the 13th, returning the 15th.

Departing Austin at 9:30am

Departing Knoxville 8:35pm

Didn't want to stay in Nashville.

Hope someone finds this useful.

We live just south of McGee-Tyson airport (Knoxville). We fly to Austin three or four times a year to visit family. Check out Allegiant. They fly non stop from Austin to Knoxville. There's a flight on Friday, October 13 with returns both on Sunday and Monday. The airport is about 30 minutes from the stadium.

If those aren't available, check out Austin to Asheville on Allegiant as well (two hours from Knoxville).

What's more amazing is people driving from NW Houston to CS think that stopping at the Buccees is required
Almost as insane is stopping at the Bastrop Buccees when driving to south Austin

United flights out of IAH into this part of the house are $500- &800 depending on where you fly.

Settled on a deal with SW out of HOB and into ATL on Fri and then return on Sun for $375.00.
Peace for Ukraine!
