That was 2012, when they added Rutgers and Maryland.

The SEC would not have added Missouri and the B1G would not have added Rutgers and Maryland had the current TV landscape existed back then.

I think you are ignoring something obvious, like the fact that the B10 just added the only two teams from the second largest TV market in the country. Do you think that's a coincidence? I'd say it's more of a strategy by the B10, who again has the biggest TV deal of any conference.

I never understood their strategy either, but so far, you can't argue with the results. I expect their TV deal will only grow when it comes time for renewal. Maybe in the future none of this will matter but today it seems pretty relevant.

The difference is USC is a mega blue blood brand. They are a great product to watch due to how well known they are, even if they were in Idaho.

Same reason the SEC grabbed OU and Texas. it wasn't because the SEC really wanted the OKC market.

So they own Idaho but can't get students to show up for home games. Go ahead and Google empty USC stadium. This includes the mega hyped Riley tenure.

Bias on a fan site???? On heavens!

You sound like my 82 year old dad who loves to complain about how stupid the fans on his school's message board are, yet keeps going back to find more things to piss himself.

It's

A

Game.

USC has a lot of fans when they are winning, when they suck, you can't find a USC fan. Not like us who pack the stadium no matter how bad we are.

One place I'd like to see TV execs start flexing some influence over schools is in the OOC scheduling.

Yes, I'd much rather see meaningful or interesting games than the crap that schools put together for themselves, and that many fans support.

At least make the contract games better by giving them a regional interest
Ole Miss and Ms State should play Southern Miss regularly.
Auburn and Alabama should play UAB, Troy, regularly.
Kentucky and Louisville should play W. Kentucky.

I don't mind the A&M Abilene Christian cupcake game. I'd rather have it on the schedule than UL Monroe, and I would much rather have UTSA, SMU, Rice or Baylor than an App State.

I'd rather have those teams on the schedule too, since we can't beat App St.

I remember a time not long ago when a certain school had a master plan to crush the Mexico City college football media market.

Are chicken wraps still $24 or did inflation get those already super inflated prices too?

Chicken farmer's family is probably going to own Kyle Field one day.
