I think Deon will be successful at Colorado, but he also should concentrate on football.

Once that's sorted out, he can be drum major if he wants to.

What is it that he wants, Afro-American jive? If so, that doesn't seem like Colorado culture.

It's hard to high step when you subsist on granola and wheat grass smoothies. It's gonna take some time and maybe an ox tail or two.

So many people here are dying to see him fail. It's quite pathetic.

Why doesn't Jimbo make suggestions on what the FTAB does?

Haven't Aggie coaches in the past made suggestions on the band, or encouraged certain entrances and such? I feel sure that's been discussed here in the past. It's really not that uncommon for the team to communicate to the band about what kind of atmosphere they like.

He should push for the Black national anthem before the game!

I've posted several times already that Coach Prime's journey through Boulder, Colorado won't be easy. People in Boulder like to run, hike, bike, ski, etc. before they get around to football.

I know Bill Byrne had a couple special requests for the Hullabaloo basketball band. When the boss that is paying for your instruments, sports pass, and travel to tournament games tells you to play an obscure song from the 50s, you do it (while trying to sneak it in pre-game so he will hear it instead of during a timeout when everyone will hear it).

Most band programs are not self-sufficient and get support from athletics and/or the university. Some coaches make requests, while most generally just communicate what kind of atmosphere they want and let the operations people work out the details.

Selling 30,000 tickets for their Spring game - sounds like the Buff fans wouldn't mind a little culture shift if it brings them success.

As a football player, Deion is on a very short list of players considered the GOAT. He's certainly the best corner. Not even a close second. He's made CU football almost must watch without coaching one game. I think the band idea is not a bad one. Besides the FTAB, there is no other bad I'd rather watch than an HBCU band.

The band is not part of his program. The football team should implement a culture of success, not components (or whatever) of one particular race regardless of the number of such athletes on the team.

Deion is not going to be at CU very long if all he has to show for it is the implementation of "black culture" (whatever that means). However, if he wins, he'll be there as long as he likes regardless of what else he does. So far be it for me to tell him what he needs to focus on, but I'm guessing the latter would likely be the rational choice.

Jackie Sherrill asked the Corps to form up on Kyle and have a yell practice after our pre game march in event to set the tone to the opponent that you have entered a very hostile stadium.

It was pretty successful as we went 2 years without losing a home game

I mean how can you not want this guy to succeed.
