Ok
&ct=g But the zoo saw people nervously laughing at us on the twitters and TikTok…FAT SEXY said:
The guy has a LONGGGG track record of success and half of the Zoo is over here complaining like we hired a serial killer to be the OC.
What are we complaining about? That he's a rich guy that had a mistress? It's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
He will help our offense tremendously. Jimbo hired the right guy.

I think that is the benefit of this hire over an up and coming type coach. Petrino has an ego, level of experience, and personality that would not let himself not have a reasonable level of control.Divining Rod said:
dont know much about him other than he's a "name" coach. Is he content to just sit back and collect a fat check and let Jimbo tell him how its going to be?
Is he actually going to be given the reins? Will Jimbo let someone actually run the show? I just don't know. I AM glad we have someone with some weight- on its face, it doesnt appear to be a farce.

The mistress thing was 10+ years ago…

Yes they do. The number one complaint all over the internet are the olds complaining about integrity and the "boys" needing good role models. They are now paid employees, just win.

Jimbo has hitched his aggie future to Petrino. 2 years from now the Jimbo buyout talk on here will be the main topic.

Nobody cares about the mistress thing. Purely from a football perspective, it's a bad hire

Well everyone is complaining about character issues with players but we are hiring coaches with a track record of character issues at a fast pace. What could go wrong?

I like the hire too. Let's see what Petrino can do.
Correct. Bama has/will have this problem in perpetuity. See Saban's hires and track record. Even if he is here for 2 years and delivers 10 and 11 win seasons then we will call it a success and able to identify the replacement if need be.Aginnebraska said:
One of the critiques against Jimbo was that whoever he hires as OC will be a lesser coach or "yes man" and that Jimbo would effectively re-absorb the play calling from the 'yes man'. I think Petrino mitigates that concern because he's a mature coach and will demand a certain about of deference from Jimbo.
I think Petrino will be a short-term hire for us. I think he will be successful. If he's successful, he will end up as a HC somewhere else in short order. Sadly, successful programs have this problem.
