How did they do it? First year coach, tons of mid-rated transfers playing key roles and an outlier in minimum blue-chip ratio for teams reaching the title game.

Lots of experience in the starting 22. 20 are jr/sr.

Would this be the first Big 12 team to win a playoff game?

I think so, first team from outside the big, sec, acc to make the title game in the playoff era.

This is what the portal does and I'm all for the parity.

They may not be all that great next year without Duggin and all the upperclassmen.

Could look more like Arky this year.

There should be a term called the Talent and Experience Rating that shows raw talent (recruit rating) combined with experience. Something that shows a senior 3* O-lineman is better than a 5* fish.

For each recruit star, you get a point. For each year, you get a point. Typical max points would be 7- 9 per player unless you have a Covid senior. Total max for each side of the ball would be ~100.

Agree.

Would be really good to use starts or snaps but would be a huge undertaking.

I want to see what this looks like for something like the App State game…I think it would be a great TexAgs term, something different and unlike any other stat I've seen.

The Aggie "100 year" decision helped immensely!!

I wouldn't fret over a TCU NC. The last time they won one was 1938. Who won in 1939?

Who would've thought that they will be the first Texas school to play in the national championship since the horns in the 2009 season? Their 2014 season was also really good too.

Everyone talks about recruiting, but the other x-factor in making strong teams is having experienced upperclassmen. TCU has the latter

It's ridiculous that TCU is going to the NC while A&M and tu look pathetic. Sickening. Shows what coaching and grit plus some luck will get.

No, they thought that the lowly "frogs" would be awed by "Big Blue" and just roll over.

Since clearly you are including sports other than football, I will point out that the Aggies won national titles during that same time frame in golf and womens basketball. But all you want to do is bleed all over Jimbo's ****ty 2022 season.

Good for them, incredible effort and season. Tcu playing for a national title is something that no one saw coming, absolutely amazing.

For what he gets paid, he's earned being **** on for not even making a bowl.

It's a great story. It's also great to see a new team in the mix instead of the same 2 or three. I'll be pulling for them in the championship.

Tcu playing for a chance at a title before the Ags is just more proof how colossal of a failure this staff and the crap hc has been.
