Texas A&M has the most players in the transfer portal, and it's just the latest sign things are quickly spiraling downward for Jimbo Fisher.https://t.co/NZwLjwGO2I

Article says we lost 14 4 stars. Looking at this list a lot of guys obviously didn't pan out. Just another lazy click bait article and another reason Outkick is trash.

That many players not being developed is a huge coaching and recruiting issue. Fisher just collecting a paycheck at this point. You have to recruit 18-22 top 300 rated players every year just to stay in the race. Fisher not close to that and way too many misses with the rest.
I would think if they cracked the death chart, playing time would be the least of their worriesQuote:
What you're seeing is highly-rated high school players who couldn't crack the death chart at a top program and are opting to go to a lower-ranked school where they are going to get more playing time

I guess there is no mention of
Florida with 22 in the portal
Arkansas with 21 in the portal
Arizona with 20 in the portal
Miami with 18 in the portal

You can only play 11 players at a time

You'd think it might have occurred to him as he worked so hard to type that list, but that goes against the narrative he's trying so hard to push.Guy on a Buffalo said:
The most noteworthy thing about this list is where the players are NOT going.
With the exception of two discipline problems, you're not seeing super talented guys leaving for better programs where they are more likely to get national exposure or a better shot at the playoff. What you're seeing is highly-rated high school players who couldn't crack the death chart at a top program and are opting to go to a lower-ranked school where they are going to get more playing time.
In other words, Alabama and Georgia aren't scooping up our top tier talent and poaching our best players. The ones that don't pan out are just leaving because they want a better shot at seeing the field than they are going to get here.
"More players" = 2 more than Florida, 3 more than Ark, etc.jphelmet said:InMyOpinion said:

First thing in the article:
"Most P5 scholarship players in the transfer portal so far in this 2022-23 cycle
1. Texas A&M 24
2. Florida 22
3. Arkansas 21
4. Arizona 20
5. Miami 18
Average among P5 so far is 10.4 entries per school."
There is no way to spin that we had an awful year and more players are leaving a&m than anywhere else. The attempts at spin in this thread are ridiculous.
It doesn't mean we will be awful next year but this many players leaving after a 5-7 season is a story and not because there is some conspiracy.

Just hyperbole for clicks and reactions. The attempts to spin it otherwise are ridiculous.
Not really. Since nobody plays both ways its actually 22 plus add on on specialty teams.astros4545 said:fieldtrailer said:

I am absolutely the opposite of "ingrained in the base". I've been saying all along that this year is an aberration and we'll rebound strong next year.jphelmet said:MooreTrucker said:"More players" = 2 more than Florida, 3 more than Ark, etc.jphelmet said:InMyOpinion said:

Or to say another way 2.4x the average. Or yet another way Most of any school in the nation. It is an undisputed fact we have lost more players than any other school. Just because a couple other teams that had awful years are close to us doesn't change the facts.
You are so ingrained in the bas, and the media is out to get us you can stare right at the facts and say facts are not facts. I love the spin that because we are close to other programs that are also awful and had horribly disappointing years that is somehow not true that we are at the absolute bottom of the list.
