I saw he is projected as a top 5 pick in the NFL draft. He was one of our players and then transferred to Tech. What was the reason for his transfer?

He was looking for playing time. We saw raw potential, but kid needed a lot of time to develop. Unfortunately, he completed his development at Tech rather than here.

No excuse for letting him transfer. Can't be letting top 5 draft picks leave your program because they aren't getting playing time. If the excuse is "he took longer to develop and we didn't have time to let him do it here," what is that based on? The fact that he didn't play? After the last 6 months of incompetence, Jimbo has lost all benefit of the doubt. How do we know he wouldn't have played well? Like Moose Muhammed until this year, he was never given the chance.

This is like when you ghost a girl because a hotter girl shows some interest. Unfortunately, the girl you ghosted lost some weight, got contacts, and let her hair down. Now, she is super hot and some other guy is banging her because you didn't give her a chance to blossom. I've seen it a thousand times.

Do you think Fisher decides who gets to play at DE? It would more likely fall on the shoulders of Price or Elko. And, as usual, most of the posters were going on about his lack of talent when he left.

Listen, while obviously not ideal, in the transfer portal era he won't be the last guy that transfers out and finds success elsewhere. Also note that his first year at Tech wasn't really better than here. Some guys just don't have it come together until later in their careers, and with the portal, that will probably be elsewhere more often than not.

Looks like he found a better opportunity and made the most of it. Happy for him.

Insisted on playing LB. Coaches wanted him to move to the D-line. He was against it. Tried it for a year and transferred.

He ended up as a DL at Tech so maybe it was because he wanted to play linebacker and our coaches wanted him on the DL but Tech ultimately had him playing DL too. His career stats at Tech are good but top 5 pick good? Doubtful. 11.5 TFL this season is pretty awesome tho.

Similar to Shaddrach Banks, came here as a WR and got too big. Coaches wanted to move him to LB so he transfers to TCU where he now plays LB.

Until we're Bama/UGA/OSUw good this is going to happen. Even happens at those schools but at a much lesser rate I suspect. And lower impact because of the overall talent leading to much less hand-wringing.

He was always a DL. He left because he wasn't getting playing time, which was obviously a mistake on our part

He was our 4th most productive DL his redshirt freshman season behind Madubike, Leal and Peevy. He hadn't even had a chance to get upset about lack of PT because he was getting it at a young age.

"I am Always Wrong" is building the case for ONLY selecting playing time for your team based upon Potential and Fear of Transfer.

No allowance is made for playing the Best Current players, 1st and 2nd string. No allowance is made for what the Team-mates will have to do when this player is in the game, because "Playing as a Team" is not important, just the threat of Transfer.

Some kids don't practice well, some still play in Instincts and not always know their primary and secondary responsibilities. So the 4-5 star in HS that doesn't practice well, maybe going back to spring and fall camps is going to get "Preferential" consideration so they won't transfer.

Face it, maturity doesn't count. Level of Effort doesn't count, it's just your rivals rating and performance in HS where maybe 2 or 3 across the line of scrimmage are Power 5 material.

He was behind several guys on the depth chart and transferred. Being pissed about letting this guy transfer over 3 years ago is just looking for reasons to ***** about something. He was a nobody when he left. If anything this story is a prime example of why the transfer portal could be a good thing.

Wasn't never going to get the star power here as he got at tech. Was playing behind Clemons, leal, tyree Johnson. Tech was able to make him the "man"

Gawd there are some stupid comments on this thread. Wilson was a PROJECT from day one based on athleticism in hopes of building up his weight and strength. Believe it or not that takes several years sometimes. Perhaps we should have benched some of our starters in order to keep him happy, as some seem to think. When he left, 2-3 years he imediately became a starter at powerhouse TT. They reaped the benefit without carrying him on the roster for two years.

Banks was a star WR at north shore and recruited as such. He showed up at A&M at 250 olbs with a bad attitude. Did not want to change positions and the others players did not want to put up with him. So he gets pizzed, goes to tcu, and they send him straight to LB. How is that on our coaches? If it is on them, then why did they suspend so many bad actors this year rather than keep them on the roster?

You could say that about half of the freshman joining a team. They are a bunch of "nobodies" who haven't matured or developed. At some point it's important to factor all of that in. I'm not saying someone should have played the situation differently, but you also shouldn't count on transfers every year. There is something good about having continuity in a team.
