He supposedly is a 'Fill-In" this year.

Announcer said Phil said "Someone is sleeping in your bed next year, it better be you" Or something like that. In any case they have seemed to think he'll return to B-CS and hang out or something.

It appeared he had a heated verbal exchange with the Boise coach after the game. PB has always seemed to me to be an unstable personality.

How did the word "chippy" ever get started? Seems like I started hearing it about 20 years ago. Is it even a real word?

been around a lot longer than that. comes from the phrase "has a chip on his shoulders"- meaning a negative/defensive person, often looking for a fight.

a chip on shoulders from "i dare you to knock this chip off my shoulder"

Ok gotcha. It's just one of those words I find annoying In sports. Same for "moxie" and "swagger "

Swagger is a brand of helicopter. Moxie is the name of a sassy 1920's movie starlet.

Don't forget trickeration, physicality, and stick-to-it-iv-ness.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
