We were never getting Perkins unless we unloaded a ton of money and if we had even done that he probably still would have went LSU. He's from LA and all his family are tiger fans. If he had come here he would have not stayed or would have caused trouble most likely. You do remember burning the A&M hat, I hope. So I have no idea why A&M fans keep bringing him up. Let it go! We kicked his Ass this year anyway.

When you throw out statements that are obviously incorrect, you lose credibility. In today's college football, Manning is rare case that CLEARLY was not bought. Yet you chose him as one of your two examples of being bought. When you do something like that, how is anyone supposed to take your posts seriously? Either you are ignorant of the situation (ie. don't have any knowledge regarding it) or you are outright lying and trying to mislead. The former is better than the latter, but I would suggests NOT posting statements as if they were facts on something you apparently have no knowledge on. It is not good from a credibility standpoint. Stating opinions is great and can be fun to debate.

Manning was bought

Arch has been a Texas fan since he was a kid. His family is wealthy. He could have gone to any school he wanted to and he chose Texas. Why? It wasnt because they were offering the most money. It also sounds like Sark and the Manning family are pretty close.

Learned the hard way (Kyler's class) not to care about recruiting. Even if they come here, they could be a b(tch) bust.

Like it or not, our "brand" is redneck weirdos. Hard to recover from that legacy for recruiting when we were all-male all-corps while the blue bloods took ahold of things.

Also, the time to capitalize on "the brand" has long passed when JFF left the team. You gotta have some history of team success, not just a great player here and there.
