NS QB took a hit and went out for a play. Back up came in and just chucked it up in the air. NS receiver made a play then out ran everyone for the TD

Any recruits or guys we're looking at in either game? TJ Shanahan is out for the year for Westlake if my memory serves me right?

Northshore has dominated the Houston region for yeaRS. Other than Katy nobody can compete down there. But than again northshore has dominated the whole state as well.

I think NS has an open enrollment system. A lot of talent in Houston ends up there. In Katy they have the "apartments" for athletes. In order to stay that good for years, there's a lot "movement". Transfers in Katy period are really high.

North Shore has had great teams for the past 30 years and even though they are always good they rarely have guys go to the NFL. If they do they play for a few years. Crazy that they have had 10+ D1 athletes in a recruiting class but not much success past high school.

North Shore is also in the ghetto, you don't have people coming to the school for a better education or life. Parts of the town have gotten a little better but still not a Bellaire or Westlake type area. The district just decided to make sure they pay a good football coach and provides the facilities to compete.

Who are some of the players that moved to Galena Park for football? I don't doubt its happened, but I'd guess its a rarity.

Wouldn't moving to Katy, much better area, make more sense?

Katy and the Woodlands typically have good teams (Woodlands is good but not always great) that are both in much better areas with higher rated education.

I was at this game. We waited for two hours in our car. When the game finally resumed, it took three minutes of real time to play the 56 seconds of game time.

North shore is not in the "ghetto". It's a working class neighborhood for sure, but there are a lot of families that make a good living.

I don't know how the school ranks academically, but I would guess somewhere around average. They have some nice facilities and exhibit reasonably good sportsmanship considering how much success they have had. Probably a reflection of the coaching and culture they have developed.

Can't say the same about Duncanville re: good sportsmanship. I will enjoy watching Northshore beat them, I only wish NS had their QB that started the season. When he was available and the kid now playing QB was catching passed in the slot, they were unreal. As it is, they're going to win another state title, but that team that started the year would have buried Duncanville by 40.

I knew of several kids when my oldest was playing ball. Kids would move to NS for football, not education same for Katy. Katy high school is ok academically but not like Thompkins or Seven Lakes. Kids move into our area for academics and leave for football. The Foster and Morton Ranch QB's this past season were both at Seven Lakes as freshman. You want a ship and a chance to win, you move. It's that simple.

So who were the kids that moved to North Shore for football? And where were they moving from? If from Worthing area or something, I could see that.

One of the QB's from a few years back along with 2 other kids that live in Katy/Spring Branch area. Don't ask me for direct names because at the time my son was using Mike Simms for QB coaching and there were kids from the west side at those districts I mentioned. I spoke with their fathers all the time. There are apartments all over the place, it isn't that hard and not uncommon. Hell, there was a kid in Katy that left one school, played for another, left, was not allowed in another and went to Fort Bend. After 2 weeks, the school he spent 2 years at found out and blocked that transfer. He ended up back at his original school. The crap is crazy….

Lived in the Humble area for 18 years, one year we played at the Galena Park stadium for football and over 20 cars got broken into, my company had a business event at their event center and 8 trucks go broken into, the next year we got shuttle buses.

Like I said parts of North Shore has gotten better but its still not the nicest area. My company's main office is close by and pretty much everyone that is based out of there has had their vehicle broken into or stolen out of the parking lot. Not exactly what I would call a nice area

Park at Intercontinental Airport--same stuff happens.

Park at the Galleria Mall--same stuff happens.

Park at Taste of Texas at Town and Country (one of the nicer steak houses in town for those not familiar with Houston)--same stuff happens.

You've got to get pretty far out in the suburbs to feel reasonably secure leaving valuable stuff in your car. Doesn't mean all those areas are in the ghetto. Unfortunately, and sadly, it's just the way life is now.

Compared to Westlake a lot of places probably qualify as the ghetto.
