Prime names his son qb1 at his introductory presser.
Awesome!

Boise State and Utah have done Ok recruiting in a cold climate.45-70Ag said:
He won't win at Colorado. He could recruit Mississippi players at Jackson. At Colorado, he's going to have to convince California kids to move to a cold climate far away from home. Good luck.
The only upgrade from A&M in 2022 is the NFL. And you have to actually bring something cerebral to table as a coach and decision maker in an even talent playing field like the NFL.amercer said:
I'd love for our football coach to do well enough to leave for and upgrade. Hasn't happened since the 1950s

Yeah, this guy is a real leader……..
Exactly. CO program is dominated by out of state players. Also, there's a huge TX-CO connection that I expect to increase under Sanders given his TX HS football connections. And what HS kid isn't gonna take a call or home visit from Deion regardless of where they live? Almost nobody. Plus he only has to deal with USC and UCLA for a year. There's no doubt in my mind he'll win there.misterguinness said:45-70Ag said:

You may want to take a look at CU's current roster and retract this statement.

Agreed. I hope it's to TAMU or Not-The-SEC.Double Diamond said:

Pipeline of talent is controlled by recruiting and NIL. Coach Prime has both.South Platte said:Texker said:Exactly. CO program is dominated by out of state players. There is no pipeline of talent to Colorado anymore. The pipeline runs east to the SEC. CU still recruits Texas but they only get players with offers from G5 schools.
I'm not sure he'll last 2 seasons at CU.
You realize he's a coach whose nickname was Prime Time in the NFL, right?cc10106 said:
"Coach Prime" is a dumb name. Dude hasn't even coached a game for an FBS team yet.
So basically he's like every other coach who moved up to the next level.cc10106 said:
Prime Time was a great nickname that was backed up by his stellar play on the field and being a two sport pro athlete
Meanwhile Coach Sanders has accomplished nothing on the FBS level yet so if I'm a recruit with lots of offers I would be skeptical and careful about falling for the hype.
Who got this much undeserved hype coming from an FCS school? The Porkchop Express said:So basically he's like every other coach who moved up to the next level.cc10106 said:

I love his swagger and his straightforwardness. He's a breath of fresh air in an industry full of good old boys and retreads.
Well your post was specifically about recruiting so that is what my response addressed.cc10106 said:
I don't doubt his recruiting prowess. Kevin Sumlin could do that. Can Coach Sanders put together a great staff and develop players as well as manage all those egos? Not saying he can't, but there's way more to consider besides recruiting. Ask A&M or the school in Austin.
Deion Sanders is one of the best and most famous College/NFL players of all time. He took over an FCS program that went 4-8 in 2019, and went 11-2 and 12-0 in his last two years with 2 conference championships. He also signed the nation's #1 player and another 4*.Hate the guy all you want but the numbers dont lie.cc10106 said:Who got this much undeserved hype coming from an FCS school? The Porkchop Express said:So basically he's like every other coach who moved up to the next level.cc10106 said:

Maybe 10% while the other 90% are creaming their panties waiting for him to fail.agz win said:
Some sure are slathered up for his success and his attempt to bring it to Colorado.
Middle Tennessee is an FBS program and one that beat Miami this year so I would respect that more whether Peyton or Deion was the head coach. Also the "hate the guy" comment is unnecessary. Be better.ea1060 said:Deion Sanders is one of the best and most famous College/NFL players of all time. Not sure why you think his hype is undeserved. It would be like Peyton Manning being the HC at Middle Tennessee and going 11-2 and 12-0. Guaranteed he would get a ton of hype, probably more so than Deion.
Rumors circulating former Vikings HC Mike Zimmer could be joining Deion as defensive coordinator @CUBuffsFootball

Zimmer has been working in advisory role with Sanders at JSU #CollegeFootball

The Kent State coach is gonna be Deion's OC. Zimmer loves Prime from the Cowboys days. CU is gonna be super interesting.
Zimmer (former Vikings head coach) served in an advisory role for Sanders at Jackson St. and is rumored to be Sanders' DC at Colorado.91AggieLawyer said:cupofjoe04 said:As someone who lives in Colorado - Californians are already moving here just like they are moving to Texas. Those are people who are taxed and regulated to death. Mainly people who are paying the freight for themselves. They aren't kids that have few responsibilities and only see the benefits California offers like weather.
If he was recruiting middle aged parents of families, you'd be right. He's not.
However, I will say I think he'll be mildly successful recruiting. I just wonder what kind of staff he can put in place. I don't know if he realizes what it will take to win not only at the FBS level but at the Pac-12 level.
What kind of scandal are you expecting from someone that doesn't drink, smoke, or curse?v1rotate92 said:
Great hire for CU. They've sucked for a long time. If Prime wins, off to NFL. My guess is his arrogance and pride will create some issues or a scandal and he won't be coaching at CU long
