It's not good.

Yeah, why tf do we try to get our band involved in the entrance....nobody does that in college fball.
Don't think its hokey at all.OldArmy97 said:
Certainly not going to argue merits of drum corps sounds on this thread but if one had to compare sounds - The Aggie Band - has one the best cadence marches anywhere when compared to other schools. It's very much a battle marching sound that can get everyone behind it hence the hand clapping that you hear in the stands or along parade routes. There have been many games in the past where it's gone dead silent between timeouts or commercial breaks where we had momentum but the silence kinda kills the mood - that if or had the Aggie Band drummed up its cadence to keep the feeling in the air - like we are still battling - than perhaps we could've changed some past outcomes.
Hokey as that sounds I promise some of you have felt that rhythm and can attest to what I am trying to convey.
I for one think this part of the entrance invokes that sense of going to battle and should be used more and not because it's trying to get the Corps involved, etc. although that too makes A&M unique and not like every other college whose bands are all too similar and sounding.
My two cents!

Yes, the entrance is our most pressing problem right now.
YES, EXACTLY!!!!! Except use another song! Has anyone really listened to Noble Men? It's a boring, pitiful repetitious piece of music. I've never understood why anyone can stand it.tk for tu juan said:
Drum cadence into a remixed version of Noble Men of Kyle. Out of 70,000 students or the rap/hip hop community in Houston, there has to be at least one person that has the creativity to provide a remixed entrance song. Why use some rock or rap song that has no direct meaning to Aggie football when a unique entrance could be created?
They did this in the mid-2000's as well.CanyonAg77 said:OldArmy97 said:

We could do this a million years ago when I was in school, and the Band and the YellLeaders ran the game
Now, there are guys with headsets relaying instructions from the press box. standing next to the Band, telling them when or if they can play.
Commercials and shout outs to big donors now take precedence over game time atmosphere
Oh, Power has been replaced, trust me. As was the odd replacement tune, "Bonfire" by Childish Gambino. A trial audition...perhaps so? Personally hoping for something with legit power.Sq 17 said:
First the guy who decided that "Fiddle in the Band" was a good idea
Should NOT be allowed in the decision
Personally not a huge fan of power but keeping it has some merit
Probably better than whatever the people in charge would pick &
A&M could make stand against cancel culture which would be a stand worth making
If Power is to be permanently replaced maybe come up with 2 or 3 finalists do each at Kyle a few times and
see which one works best
then name the winner at home finale
are you saying no one man should have all that power?Quote:
