I fear how this is going to go. Hire a new OC but he is the OC in name only. Jimbo continues to carry a hundred or so color-coded laminated pages and will claim he does so for sentimental purposes only. But the new OC will look to Jimbo for which play to call and Jimbo's decision will be relayed to the new OC who will relay it to the QB. This will further slow down getting the play in and result in numerous delay of game penalties and use of all our time outs on the first couple of drives each half.

Jimbo needs young eyes in the booth helping him with play calling. I could see the two game plan for the week and let Riley call plays with Jimbo having the last word.

Personally, it seems to me that Jimbo's offense needs to be at least streamlined a ton. Most other teams are playing up tempo and it just takes to long for Jimbo to get a play called and into the QB. Also, Most other teams are playing using a lot of motion while we are not using any motion on too many plays.
By no means do I think I am educated in this, but just some observations from what I have seen.
