I am surprised there isn't more TexAgs venom being thrown D.J. Gerkin's way. We have the talent on defense but our scheme isnt working. We give up 200+ rushing per game and fail to adapt whatsoever.
??? That's a pickle.AggieGrandson44 said:

****ing morons.
Yeah, there's something about having a historically bad season and wanting to see positive changes that has some of us kind of riled up. But please do share some of the sunshine with us, I would love to hear how we should be happy with our football right nowDallasAg 94 said:

Sorry you life didn't turn out as fulfilling as you had dreamed.
Imagine thinking Durkin has done Ok this year and isn't a problem. It's ridiculous how so many of you on here take up for Durkin. He has been pathetic this year regardless of how putrid the offense has been.Bunk Moreland said:

You have to be related to Durkin. Always saying how great the defense has done this year and always posting wrong stats to support your claim.Ags4DaWin said:
Scoring Defense is top 20 in the country.
The rushing defense is an issue.
But a "better than average overall defense" is not something to ***** about when our offense under our Offensive GURU HC can't be expected to score more than 2 TD's a game.
Almost every game has been winnable based on how well the defense played.

Unbelievable how much talent was recruited on defense and that with all of that talent we are giving by up 200 yards on the ground.
It's unbelievable.
That's not going to win a National title. Ever.
Our offensive has no OL coach and no OC AND limited talent. That's why they are terrible.
A&M's scoring defense is 39th in the country at 22.9 pts/gm.Onionman said:Imagine thinking Durkin has done Ok this year and isn't a problem. I knew our offense would probably struggle this year. New QB, Spiller and Green gone, top playmaker gets hurt and out for the year. However, I thought our defense would be lights out this year. A bunch of playmakers on that side of the ball. And yet teams like Troy have actually played much better defense against common opponents than A&M has. That can't happen.
I believe that's a "gherkin"....regardless, we're in a pickle.Ag Tag said:??? That's a pickle.AggieGrandson44 said:

Agreed. I'd give serious consideration to having Santucci run Elko's defense.Quote:

I totally disagree that our defense would be ranked higher if we had a good offense. Just the reverse would be true. Right now the offense is so bad the opposing team usually has the lead and no real threat to losing the game so they can just milk the clock.agracer said:A&M's scoring defense is 39th in the country at 22.9 pts/gm.Onionman said:Imagine thinking Durkin has done Ok this year and isn't a problem. If we had a real offense that could do better than 5 three and outs to start every second half, IMO they'd be top 20.
I get we all have a very bad case of BAS this fall, but the over the top criticism of Durkin is borderline neurotic.

After the horrendous start against South Carolina we get back in the game and it looks winnable. The defense promptly lets South Carolina march right down the field with a long scoring drive causing us to lose the game. We get close to Ole Miss and the same thing happened. Any time an opposing team felt threatened they easily ran the ball and scored against us.
Considering the talent that A&M has, the defense has been atrocious this year.
It's assinine to think the defense has been good and/or is not a problem.Bunk Moreland said:Onionman said:I totally disagree that our defense would be ranked higher if we had a good offense. Pass D (when healthy) is and was a huge strength for us this year. By A&M putting up points and possibly even taking the lead, teams can't just run all day and would have to pass into our strength. It's asinine to think the defense would be worse if we had a good offense.

So you are saying we have to be up multiple scores or with a lead late in the game for our good pass defense to take over. Because if the other team has time they can easily run the ball against us.
I believe A&M on pace to have one of the worst rush defenses (per game rush avg) in the entire history of A&M football. And this is coming off a solid year last year and a class that brought in a bunch of great young talent.
