Set numerous Texas high school passing records but the head coach at that time thought it was a great time to go with outdated option offense. Fisher is not the first head coach to set back offensive football 20-30 years. We have quite a history of it.

The zoo is a tough crowd. You may not even remember the Franchioni years, and many Aggies would like to memory-hole that era.

Back when I was at A&M, when RC Slocum was the coach, we had a linebacker named Dat Nguyen. If you don't know that name you should look him up. He is considered one of the best linebackers in A&M history and was often compared to Ed Simonini, which made the students at the time ask, "who?" Simonini was a stud linebacker for A&M before I was born, and I'm sure the older Ags back then were surprised at how many current students had not heard of him.
