I would guess that in Jimbo's mind he just landed the top recruiting class against a backdrop of a pretty good team, solid at skill positions, filling in the rest, and QB room looks promising with depth. He won't say it out loud, but has to be thinking this is his run up to a title game.

Question is - is it this year with the tougher schedule or next year with the talent depth?

I could see three very strong seasons starting this year with this group…

Dare I say we could win the SEC next few years with this team? They have the potential?

As a long-suffering Texas Aggie, I don't want to make a prediction. I am excited about this year just like I am every year. We do have a ton of talent on the team… I just want to enjoy the ride. 9 more days!

Typical dips****

Go follow a different team if Aggie football makes you so miserable.

This year is going to be awesome and set up a huge run over the next three years.

I'm part of the "I'll believe it when I see it" crowd. Too many seasons of having high expectations crushed like a grape.

We always say next year, but I truly believe next year is the year everything comes together. Hoping this year's team surprises me but I'm expecting a 9-3 season.

I dunno, this Old Aggie had been waiting for Next Year since Bear Bryant's Yell Practice in The Grove.

Been next year since 1939 and will continue to be until at least 2039. Is 100 years long enough?

If we have excellent QB play throughout the season no reason this year can't be it or New Years 6. The defense is salty, they will provide enough opportunities for the offense.

If we have above average QB play, 10-3 should be worst case

Below average QB play, sigh, 8-5

2022-23: They're just freshman
2023-24: They are sophomores which are redshirt freshman so can't expect much
2024-25: They are juniors but really redshirt sophomores so really just freshman. Another throwaway year
2025-26: The "freshman" all entered the draft so time to rebuild again

Expecting 10 wins with the bowl game isn't asking a lot of this team or program in year 5. No one cares about your sob stories in regards to injuries or youth or inability. Time to win at least at a modest rate top 15 level.

Considering how my life has gone thus far....

In 2023 I have a corporate suite at NRG for all events. The NC game is not at NRG.

In 2024 my corporate suite at NRG goes away. The NC game is at NRG.

Thus, Aggies will be making the Championship Game in 2024. Book it!

Realistically I would be happy finishing the regular season in the top 15 and maybe sneaking into the top 10 of the final AP poll. That most likely means 2 losses.

I think this year's team has the POTENTIAL to be really good if we can catch lightning in a bottle.

I hate the "wait til next year" but for us right now our best shot at an SEC and NC is certainly next year.

This season we have a new QB and an entire new DL. All those highly ranked 5* and 4* guys are kids that have not played college football yet. In 2023 all of these will be returning starters.

Schedule wise 2024 is more favorable than 2022 as far as SEC home/away.

Off the 2022 team we will lose Ainias on offense, White at LB and a couple of DBs. The returning collection of talent will be higher and more experienced in 2023 than 2022.

I still expect a very good 2022 season, 9-3+.

What? Come on guys. It's always next year. The last time it was officially this year was going into the 1995 season. And we all know what happened that year. Lol

It has to be this year. Especially when the "experts" don't give us much of a chance. For once I would like to see this team blow out every opponent on the schedule.

I can't stand Saban, and we owe him for 59-0, among other things. LSU: can't stand their fanbase, so I hope we put 80 points on them. And the same goes for arky, auburn, ole miss, and state

I think, if we win all of our games this year, it will be this year. If we don't, it won't be this year.

Same scenario for next year.

If I go back to when Jimbo was originally hired and we are all being honest.........

It was always the 2022 season that was circled as the year that Jimbo MUST shut down all the talk & any excuses to produce a CFP team. Certainly in my twisted mind. He has had 4 full recruiting cycles and is going into his 5th season.

But enter present day and it is ANOTHER year away still.

If this crap makes its way into the 2025 season, I think I will laugh myself to a painful death.

Last year was really painful to watch and I hope an immense learning experience that is never replicated by Fisher. I have high expectations for 2022 but I still am willing to point to 2023 as the make it or break it year.

They say Fisher has highest amount of pressure of any coach in 2022. Probably true for the national media. But internally that pressure is not a concern until at least 2023. That is when we start taking a page for the sips and our money men start trying to manipulate the situation and create some change. Of course, all our boosters are experts in college football, just like the sips. So if they force the coach to make a drastic change, it is always a good thing.....

Go ask Charlie Strong or Herman or Sark. They can tell u more.
