Wednesday night piano bar at The Tap was my favorite weekly spot. Though it's frat hangout (and I'm not a frat guy), I also liked Logan's on Northgate.

Thursday's at 11am at the chicken. Drinking beer before my 2pm lab. Talking to a dude who had his picture on the bird wall for the record of 59 beers drank in a day. Dude had some wild stories. Looked forward to that every week. Name was Forrest I believe.

The Chicken was my favorite. Also went to the Tap fairly often as it was close to my place.

I spent my 52th birthday at The Tap on piano bar night. Two of my Aggie friends were with me, as well as my son and some of his friends. My son still has a video of that night on his phone. Obviously I have to be very nice to my son now.

During my time at A&M, and after I started dating my now wife, we loved going to TJs. It was at 707 Texas which is the building across the side street from what is now Las Palapas. The entrance was from the outside stairs on the south side of the building. Once at the top of the stairs, you would turn left to go into a nice restaurant
(nice for college kids) and turn right to go into TJs.

TJs was a couples bar. Couches, good bar. Lots of good looking girls in there every time. Kim Tomes, who was Miss America and first runner-up in Miss Universe, was there often. Not to mention my now wife and there will be no Rule #1.

Before dating my wife, it would be The Chicken.

That picture was way too big. Too old for divorce so it is gone.

Dudley's front porch. The only non smoking spot to consume beer with shiner bock pitchers for $5.

I believe it was called "Club 2818".

They had an amazing Happy Hour, started with 4 for 1 and then 3 for 1 and finally 2 for 1 drinks.

Definitely not a favorite but it was on my bus route.

Any fellow bros remember the short lived existence of Martini Street? Used to roll in there 20 deep with my bros in our Tap Out shirts to grind on freshman while downing Jaeger bombs.

Logan's on north gate had the best music.

O'Bannon's Karaoke night was great too.

I think it's important to put the years you went to these bars, from 2008-2012,

Tier 1: O Bannons and Daisy Dukes, Cedar Lane
Tier 2: Dry Bean, Logan's, Chicken, tipsy turtle

Definitely remember seeing members of the basketball team at Martini Street on several occasions. Did Martini Street turn into Rebel Yell or something like that? Think that was after my time.

Yeah it was Rebels or Rebel Yell or something after that. Martini Street will never be replicated. There was nothing like being wasted on J bombs and grinding on some Blinndergarten tail bro.

Zephyr Club was pretty cool. They had a drink called the Starlab Fallout when the thing was crashing back to earth.

Chicken, Dudley's, and a bar on the Southside (in the last shopping center before the College Station Police department) that I don't remember the name, but was bad arse during the late 1980s.

It was Martini Street, then The Drink, then Willie's Ice House, then Rebels. All in about 4 years.

I know who you are talking about! My dad went to college with him. Pretty sure that was Glen Baker. He said we were sitting at his table when we were playing 42. Sounded like a tough dude.

Talked to my dad, said his name was Forrest Glen Baker. Said he was a legend at the Chicken.

That's him! Haha. Old dude that was kind enough to share his stories with me and my new army buddies. He was there every Thursday during the day back in my 2012-16' days.

If I remember correctly it was Studio 2818, named after Studio 54 in NY in a contest where the winning entry was announced live on local radio.

They had a five hour happy hour 2x, 3x, 4x, 3x and 2x.

Previously called Gary's.
