I was thinking along the same lines. Check the politics forum here and try to make the argument it isn't A&M. At least the 'debate' will draw out all the cockroaches.

Oh, the bottom 1/3 of Texas is "like a whole other country" and that country is Mexico and English is spoken as a 2nd language at best. Most of the population is illiterate not one but in two languages. So there's that.

I think some of you need to get out more. We did a tour of many SEC schools over the last 10 days….

Bama was our favorite followed closely by Ole Miss. if going where the hottest chicks with lots of money are is dumb, then I guess I am dumb. But seriously, some awesome campuses and very good people from the few we encountered. I would let my child go any day.

We are required by law to admit top 10% and as of 2021 only they receive auto-admittance according to this article:

The article further notes that in past years 85% of the incoming freshman class met half of the auto-admit criteria of being in the top 25% and fulfilling a sliding test score requirement. I'm sure the test score is in effect no longer a key requirement to avoid potential accusations of racial inequity. But by changing this rule it is up to the University to determine what the admission rate will then be.

In short: 85% of the admission rate was on autopilot. The rest was discretionary.

I showed this to an Arkansas fan. He was pretty proud of himself when he guessed right that the squiggly dotted thing at the end meant it was a question. I didn't have the heart to actually read it to him after that.

Just looked up the latest rankings. OU is ranked 127 in academics tied with Kentucky. They will pretty much be in the middle of the SEC in academics.

I think it will be Vanderbilt, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn....

I've met some good folks in Fayetteville, too. And Pittman is a good hire, imo.

Dumb is one thing but now we have moved past discussing fan base. TAMU ranks very high in many systems. For example: success of grads 20 years out, earnings, number of CEOs, facilities, national merit scholarships, international presence, facilities, number of recent graduates, Med school, engineering, law school, dental school, physics, petroleum and chemical engineering, Qatar, Osaka University, Business school, etc.

Hard to beat the cumulative impact of TAMU across the nation and the world. It is huge.

For 2022 factually speaking it seemingly would be Mississippi State. If Texas were in the SEC they would be ranked 3rd for 2022.
