2023 Katy Paetow linebacker Daymion Sanford commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has added to their 2023 recruiting class today as Katy Paetow linebacker Daymion Sanford‍ has announced his verbal commitment to the Aggies via Twitter.

There may not be a more “stock-up” player in the state right now. Sanford has been raking in offers from some of the top programs in the country since the summer began, and that’s mainly due to the ridiculous testing numbers he was pumping out at the camps he was attending.

For instance, when he came to A&M in early June, he measured in at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds. He then ran 4.54 in the 40, vertical jumped 39 inches and broad jumped 10 feet, 8.5 inches. Those are eye-catching numbers.

Sanford becomes A&M’s sixth commitment in the 2023 class, and he’s the first linebacker to jump in for Tyler Santucci. He ultimately chooses the Aggies over scholarship offers from Alabama, Texas, LSU and Florida State.

Those stats along with that tape, how the hell is this guy still a middling three-star?

Those are 5-A Houston kids on that tape. Not 6-A kids, but certainly solid competition.

I just checked the L-44 ... it was down/unavailable. I'm assuming he's getting a bump there?

Daymion Sanford is an awesome key to the Aggie D. He will be a great corner-rushing LB.

I am hoping Daymion's Paetow HS Panther teammate, DL David Hicks (David Hicks 247 Player Profile), joins him in Aggieland.

Looking at his accolades and even just his offer list, he will definitely not stay a 3-star.
