JFF Hands Down not even close. I think people forget how truly awful our defense was his last year. They say stats don't lie. We had one of the worst defenses in all of CFB Johnny's last year.

I went with JFF but I really like your answer. Dat affected every single game tremendously. He was basically unblockable and had the best nose for the ball I've ever seen.

Many of these are opposing players playing at Kyle against bad or average A&M teams. I am having a hard time coming up with a more anticipated game than 2013 Alabama at Texas A&M. The entire country talked about that game for 9 months!! AJ McCarron had a MONSTER day at Kyle to pull out a HUGE road win. McCarron with 334 yards/4 touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. Manziel was fun to watch but his 2 interceptions were brutal compared to McCarron's fantastic performance on the road.

Statistically we had one of the worst defenses in the entire country!

Exactly. 2013 was my first year at Texas A&M because I transferred from a community college in northern California. I recall how horrible our defense was in 2013. We allowed 31+ points 8 times, and JFF helped us to win 5 of those 8 games with losses to Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. We incurred an additional 28-21 loss at Missouri.

With even an average defense, we would have beaten Auburn and Missouri to finish 10-2 and 2nd in the SEC West. That would have impacted both divisions. Auburn would have lost two games at LSU and Texas A&M, and Alabama would have clinched the SEC West before the Iron Bowl matchup. South Carolina and Missouri would have both finished 6-2 in SEC games, but South Carolina would have owned the tiebreaker with a 27-24 double overtime win at Missouri on 10/26/13 for the SEC East division title.

Many good answers here, but 1 that I have not seen listed: Derrick Thomas - Alabama (1988). One of the best defensive players I have ever seen at Kyle.
I agree about Thomas. The guy was all over the field in that Hurricane Bowl. Big, fast and hard hitting. Best non-Aggie defensive player I can remember at Kyle.

You have to remember during one of AP's big games against us is that he played with a separated shoulder.

Fitzgerald had a terrible QB who couldn't hit the broadside of the barn. He should have had 400yds against us. It was the most dominating performance from one player I've ever seen at Kyle. I still remember his last TD in triple coverage. Truly a man among boys.

Mike Evans consistently made SEC secondaries look pedestrian. The 95 yd score against Bama being a great example.

Relative to position I'll say Braden Mann gets a mention as well, the guy made punts into "can't miss" plays

Yeah, was the OP a trick question? I don't think this is particularly close. We've had some great running backs, defensive player, kickers, etc. but JF could waterbug around the field and evade defenders like he had supernatural powers.
