I want to know who the best player you have seen play at Kyle Field… can be A&M player or an opposing player that was just that good.

Larry Fitzgerald...

Brett Favre maybe when So. Miss visited. We shut him down, but overall he may be the best from a visiting team.

As far as the Ags go, it's about positions. I'd put Richmond Webb up there near the top. We've had so many good running backs and defenders and of course, JFF.

He tore us apart and would have been my choice as well, but I wasn't at that game. He was truly a man amongst boys.

Best college player JFF not even close.

Best pro player Larry Fitzgerald, I knew that day he was a hall of famer. His body control in the air was amazing.

Larry Fitzgerald and it was immediately apparent as we were at the game. Not a 'nostalgic' look back or anything. Dude was on another level.

Though if I had been at the Evans vs. Bama game, I'd probably change my answer.

Another reply for Larry Fitzgerald with JFF an obvious throw in as well. Fitz was double and triple teamed and still just wasn't to be denied that game.

For opposing teams ... Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson come to mind

People aways bring up Fitzgerald but really he could have done so much more if Pitt really wanted to. He was a man among boys, but if we hadn't tried our damnedest to limit his impact it would have been a 6 TD day for him likely.

That being said, I would take Manziel over Fitzgerald any day. Heck Swope vs RGIII was better than Fitzgerald vs Fran/Torbush IMO.

Either Eric Dickerson or Mike Singletary - opposing

Since didn't say opposing I'll add Aggies that in College were difference makers:

Kevin Smith
Rod Bernstein
Ty Warren
Pretty much the entire 86 wrecking crew was solid

Better idea would be the best single game performance you've seen at Kyle...but what do I know.

Fitzgerald. Despite the coverage, he got to the ball first. Multiple catches had me wondering how in the world could he have caught that. I have missed very few home games since 1955, seen lots of outstanding players, but his performance that day stood above all others.

Obviously after JFF, I would probably say Ricky Williams. My God he was unfair at times. Technically we did beat them at Kyle but he still almost had 200 yards. Then of course in 98 he broke the record and destroyed us. They only won by 2, but it was all Williams and a bunch of FG's and that's really all they ever would need. Dude was unreal and I've never been happier to see a player leave austin.

Interesting fact for recent history -

The #1 overall pick for the

2021
2020
2019
2017

NFL Drafts played at Kyle Field at some point in their career. And if Georgia would ever come here 2022 could've been included as well

Fitzgerald is definitely up there

Single game, Ty Warren vs VaTech... he played an unreal game. If not for him it would have been much worse than it was.

Darren Lewis.
Aaron Wallace/John Roper.
Barry Sanders lit us up in Kyle one day....

Too many to choose from

Not a typical pick, but when asked this question, I typically think of Aaron Glenn. The thing is, he was so good, that he actually didn't have very many sats his senior year. By his senior year, throwing his way was known to be about as likely to be caught by Glenn as it was by the receiver.

I remember specifically keeping an eye on him in one game (forget which), where they threw his was early in the game, and he just missed making an interception. I kept an eye on him for the rest of the game and they did not throw another pass in his direction for the rest of the game. Not one. So, he showed nothing in the stats. But he completely changed the game plan of the other team. I've never seen that happen before or since.

For his entire senior year, Glenn registered only 13 passes defended, but yet was first team all-American and the 12th player drafted that year. He was so great that most teams simply avoided throwing to whoever he was covering (who was usually their top receiver) almost the entirety of his senor year.

For opposing players it has to be Fitzgerald. He was so dominant you couldn't even be mad. Once we realized we couldn't win, most us silently cheered for him and appreciated what we were witnessing.
Let's go, Brandon!

Not a bad idea. If we do that, Larry Fitzgerald and Todd Blythe start to look real similar.

I'll amend that statement. Over the course of a couple of seasons I've never seen what Johnny did on a regular basis. But from a single game, oh-my-God standpoint…….watching Larry Fitz just single handedly destroy us was unreal. Never seen anyone take over a game the way he did that day

Surprised no one has said Mike Evans. Yeah, Fitzgerald ripped us a new one that one game, but Evans ripped lots of new ones in multiple opponents.

The back judge from the Arkansas game 1988. SOB won the game for them all by himself…

Real answer, Larry Fitzgerald. A Pitt fan sitting near me was telling me about him before the game, and how he was the best he had ever seen at any level. I was like yeah whatever.

By the end of the game he was the best I had seen at any level.
