2023 Southlake Carroll punter Tyler White commits to Texas A&M

Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M continue to search for the nation’s best, and on Sunday, they added another big-time commitment in the 2023 class when Southlake (TX) Carroll punter Tyler White‍ announced his college choice.

His decision comes on the heels of his most recent visit to College Station for Texas A&M’s spring game.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout received an offer from the Aggies and did not waste any time making his decision.

White also held offers from Texas and Miami, but the relationships he formed with special teams coach Eric Russell and Jimbo Fisher helped push the Aggies over the top.

He is the Aggies' fourth commitment in the 2023 class.

In addition to football, White is also being recruited in baseball. He plans to play both at Texas A&M.

Wow, he's left footed.

It will be interesting to see if those receiving his punts will 'struggle' catching them. Don't know if this is true but many years ago, I remember a sports commentator stating the ball spins differently and makes it more difficult to handle (if one is not prepared for such).

Nevertheless...nice to see him commit.

That's one reason why the Pats always seem to have a left footed punter. Bill Belichick felt the ball spun differently from a lefty and would result in better field position

It's a lot like a lefty pitcher; it's not that it's necessarily a different kick coming out, but it sure does go to a side of the field than you're used to running toward.

Jimbo, without a designated special teams coach, still manages to pull in a punter that horns were legitimately recruiting & their best recruiter (Banks) is their special teams coach, to boot!
