He ran a 4.98 ...

Not super fast by any stretch....but honestly, how many TE's are open field speed demons anyway? They are posession type guys that can catch and block and, generally speaking, aren't known for YAC to begin with. Separation, catching ability, blocking ability and things like size, vertical, etc. seem to be more important metrics for a TE than straight line 40 speed that is almost never actually implemented in a game.
I just don't see how he goes undraftedDetmersdislocatedshoulder said:
Terrible 40 but still a very solid tight end. If he goes undrafted someone is going to get a hell of a free agent. In my opinion I have seen enough to know this guy can play at the next level.
But that 40 is brutal.
Exactly. But besides being slow with lousy hands and a poor blocker , he's an amazing TE prospect.dannyv said:schmellba99 said:

Unfortunately he also had a ton of drops last year and is an average blocker at best.
actually it's like that every year.northeastag said:
Well the draft hasn't happened yet, so let's wait and see. Perhaps he had some lingering injury that prevented him from training as hard as he could have, and he will get some speed back over time. But the market is probably pretty thin for slow tight ends that drop balls on occasion.
It's becoming sort of commonplace now. Athletes that declare for the draft only to realize later on that they've already played their last meaningful game.

"not super fast ...." is hilarious.
12 Offensive linemen ran sub-5 40's
7 Defensive Tackles did
Not sure what the hell Jalen last off-season, but he cost himself alot of money ...
such a bummer.
Because Aggies being successful in the NFL is very good for Aggie football, and I like seeing guys I cheered for in college kick ass in the NFL.Jay Reimenschneider said:
A bummer? Why? Who cares what money he will or won't make?

Kyle Pitts' 40-yard dash clocked in at 4.44u.

That speed at 6'6" and 246 lbs though 👀 @SECNetwork pic.twitter.com/qjysreMifF
Jalen Wydermyer has a ton of work to do to make his way back on draft boards. This is ugly. pic.twitter.com/WS2GgDRugu

Everyone knew Spiller wouldn't run fast, and linemen are linemen, speed is very exceptional there.HowdyGetRowdy409 said:
To be honest it seems that all of the A&M players didn't test well physically at both combine and pro-day. Not sure if this is something that A&M is really at fault for though, but if A&M has any input on their preparation for such drills/tests then A&M really needs to step it up in a big way. I would typically think that each player usually trains at facilities away from school.
LOL, only someone wearing seriously maroon colored glasses ever thought he was a day one pick.rsf0626 said:
Wasnt just his 40 that was bad, it was everything. He's a serious threat to go from what was potentially a day 1 pick to now going undrafted
if this most recent season was similar to his previous year, he would have been day 1. I don't think anyone thought he was day 1 prior to his pro day....then again, this is texags...NoahAg said:LOL, only someone wearing seriously maroon colored glasses ever thought he was a day one pick.rsf0626 said:

I like the guy, and he was a pretty good player for us, but there's nothing about him that separates him from a bunch of other college TEs. Like others said, too many drops and subpar blocker. Hopefully he still makes some $$$.
Yep, that will hurt him more IMO. Or should anyway.dannyv said:schmellba99 said:

Pitts is also more of a receiver, and a way better one at that than Wydermeyer.ABATTBQ87 said:schmellba99 said:
