So tired of hearing the BS "the house that Johnny built". Shows complete ignorance of how long-term capital campaigns and planning takes.
There was a lot of foot dragging in donations until Johnny. You can't plan donations that are large. You inspire them.

If its not him and his "Money Phone" I don't want it.

Frankly, I think a Von Miller statue should come first, and I don't think any statue of Manziel should be just him alone. So many great individual player stories during those two seasons.

This photo of Luke Joeckel, Patrick Lewis and Johnny would make a great statue.

When all is said and done, Mike Evans might end up being the most honored Aggie football player of all time, with one of the most inspirational stories of any Aggie. A true role model, worthy of a statue.

Its pretty crazy they have dragged their feet on building him a statue. Literally the most famous college athlete ever, put A&M into pop culture, pretty much single handedly responsible for the biggest fundraising boom in the school's history (its true Johnny isnt Johnny without Mike Evans), and its not like we have Heisman winners dripping from the program. The only reason people can come up with not to build it is because they personally don't like him.

We're a school that claims contested national titles from the Coollidge administration but we dont build a statue of a guy who won the heisman in our lifetime? That's weird.

Statue. Give it to him

Take a look at donations before and after the Heisman season to both the A&M foundation and 12th Man Foundation. Its a huge difference (edited because I got excited). He didnt build the stadium, but I guarantee that capital campaign had a much easier time because of him.

Statues are primitive and unnecessary IMO.

I know I know, a robot seems like a good idea. You're going to want to make it 1/3 scale and have about a 4 foot power cable. That way, if it turns on you, you can reasonably overpower it or get a safe distance away. But can you imagine a JFF robot?! There's not enough cocaine in the world.

Mike Evans didn't win a Heisman. Johnny did. And John David Crow did. There should be a Heisman memorial similar to the one Florida does. Like him or not, run him down, make fun of him, the guy is an Aggie, and he earned his recognition.

Its insane that the Texas A&M administration has dragged their feet on building a Johnny Manziel statue. He won the Heisman 10 years ago and took our football program to new heights.

A statue of Johnny would have to come with a statue of Mike Evans saving his azz and giving him the Heisman

They're probably waiting until they are satisfied that Johnny has grown up enough so that he doesn't embarrass himself or the school every two or three years.

That Heisman belongs as much to the OL as it does to Johnny. If Manziel had been at tech or Okie State or South Carolina he would have had a few WOW highlight moments but that is about it.

The 2012 OL is maybe the best OL in the history of college football, it certainly was the best in the history of Texas A&M football, with 2013 being the 2nd best in the history of A&M football.

Regardless, I second and support having a Manzil statue, as well as statues for Von Miller and Dat Nguyen, major trophy winners.

There won't be. It's the "citizenship" factor.

Did he build the new Kyle? Yep. Was he the most exciting player to watch of all time? I say yep. And I am objective. I thought Ricky Williams as a sip was exciting and electric to watch. But Johnny was even more so. When Johnny touched the ball, your arm hairs were standing in anticipation.

He was a great one.

He won't get a statue.

Johnny Manziel puts all other great Aggie football players in the shade. Erect the statue. Anybody who says otherwise cannot judge football greatness! Every time he came out of the huddle I had the feeling we would score. Do you ever remember a single Aggie player who made you feel that way?

Texas A&M foundation's President seems to be ignorant on long term capital campaigns. Below was his comments after the university raised $300 million more than in any prior year after Johnny's freshman season…

"People ask me all the time if you have a winning football team, do you raise more money," Davis told the Bryan-College Station Eagle. "In normal times, the statistical data wouldn't support that, but in an era where we are in, effectively, in the news everywhere and you have a young man like our quarterback who has been a media magnet and you have the success you have, I do think that euphoria does spill over into success in fundraising. I'm hoping we can keep it up."

Compared to Manziel, Bucky was every bit as good a leader, almost as good a runner and nowhere near the passer. 1 to 10, Manziel was a ten. Bucky 8.5. And Bucky did not have eyes in the back of his head. Will always love Bucky though for what he did.
