No love for this guy on the board? A DL haul of Nolen, Brownlow-Dindy, Lucas, Sylla, White, and Stewart would be arguably the greatest DL haul on paper in history by any school. Ever.

Oh, and Perkins just wasn't thinking clearly if didn't want to play behind that DL for 3-years. That DL is going to make just about any LB look a lot better.

What are you hearing about Perkins heading in to the final 48 hours? I agree Stewart is a likely ag, but I honestly don't see how Perkins can logically choose anyone but the Ags. The relationships he built with this class alone and Jimbo. He's seen what the A&M fan base is like. It would be easy for mama Perkins to attend every home game to cheer for her son. Florida he has been high on them, but it's in Florida harder and more expensive for mama Perkins to make every game. Not to mention they and LSU are rebuilding with a first year head coach. Although the kid is from New Orleans and I'm sure he's got folks from the LSU camp pushing him that way. The Ags remain the most logical choice for him come Wednesday.

Cannot disagree more. You have no idea how these two will adjust and develop to college ball. If maturity is any indication of success, Shemar is ready to dominate while Perkins has some growing up to do. Think: Christian Kirk vs Speedy Noil.

A 6'6" 275 lb, 5-star national top-10 rated edge rusher - A projected first round NFL draft prospect and potential Myles Garrett leveliish recruiting pickup - is 'just another body'?

A LB can benefit from a good DL more than a DL can benefit from a good LB.

Hope Stewart chooses A&M. If he does.. how in the world could Perkins not want to play behind our DL recruits compared to other.

Stewart is going to Florida. Perkins is LSU bound.

Linebacker is a "want-to" position. You have to "want-to" stick your nose in there, you have to "want-to" track down the ball carrier from sideline to sideline. It seems kinda clear to me that Perkins doesn't "want-to." He wants to be a RB, but no college coaches are recruiting him as that. He has all the physical tools to be a stud LB, but without that mental edge, he's nothing. If he signs with us, and the light bulb turns on, great. But I'm not counting on it. I won't be upset if he signs elsewhere.

I would love to have Perkins, but I am pretty happy with Martrell Harris and Ish Harris. I think a lot of 4 stars LBs will look like 5 stars behind the DL class we are bringing in.

It's football. Every position is a "want-to" position.
At QB you have to "want-to" spend the time in film room so you know the coverages like second nature.
At RB you have to "want-to" step up and block the rushing LB.
On the lines you have to "want-to" impose your will on the other player every single play.
At WR you have to "want-to" cross the defenders face on the slant and move to your secondary route on a scramble.
In the secondary you have to "want-to" come up in run support and fight through blocks on bubble screens.

And every big time D1 coach recruiting him as a LB says I'm right…and I don't think he's a worse player because he decomitted, I just think his attitude sucks. There's gonna be plenty of guys that can play LB behind this D line, we'd be fine without him.

We are not recruiting him because of his numbers, it is his athletic ability. 29 tackles for the best LB in the nation? District offensive player of the year? Everyone wants him for his potential.

Hearing that his mom is being pretty forceful and his interviews are painful to watch. Whatever school he ends up with I hope he has a good mentor and someone to push him in the right direction.

Both Stewart and Perkins would be good players to get but will not make or break the class. We have a killer DL class already and with Harris and Harris we are okay at LB, Perkins would surely help

He just got a CB to the Ags by a Georgia insider.

I really son't get how people think they can pass judgement on someone's attitude from a soundbite? Seriously. Haven't we learned enough as a modern society living with social media that it's harmful to make such rash assumptions on limited info? It's like people are trying to project their disappointment on a kid because he isn't going to make their lives better.

I agree. The internet is wonderful for creating false realities and misconceptions.

Apparently, Perk's mom wants him here so he's close to home, but he's always been drawn elsewhere. I'd hate to be in a spot where my heart is pulling me one way, but my mom is pulling me another. The recruitment process is hard on these guys.
