Jones has a talent for paying big bucks for flashes in the pans. Then, apparently they have to play them because of what they're paying them. Prescott is, at best, average. The San Francisco 49ers' 23-17 upset of the Dallas Cowboys extended that drought to 26 years. Since the start of the 1996 season, 12 different NFC Teams have reached the Super Bowl at least once. Only 4 NFC teams did not reach the Super Bowl in that span: Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Football Team, and the Detroit Lions.

But the Minnesota Vikings made 4 NFC Championship Game appearances in 1998, 2000, 2009, and 2017. That means the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Football Team, and the Detroit Lions are the only 3 teams that did not reach the NFC Championship Game since the start of the 1996 season.

I grew up a diehard Oilers fan but always side rooted for the Cowboys. At least you get to watch them play.
