When I realized the cowboys were in a playoff game, I told my wife they were going to lose. She said she'd heard they'd been playing really well and she thought maybe they'd win. I told her this was the playoffs, so they were guaranteed to choke.

I wouldn't say they got lucky but the trade was a huge part of the 3 Super Bowl wins. As was the drafting of Aikman and Irvin, which occurred prior to all that and mostly prior to the Jones regime. Once the players that had high value from the trade, and others like Aikman and Irvin, got to the back side of their careers, so did the Cowboys' fortunes. At least for that time period.

Jerry Jones is NOT going to sell the team. He's enriched his family beyond belief for generations and his son, and likely grandsons, are waiting for their turn to run things. With all due respect to the Yankees, and Cowboy haters, the Cowboys have a brand that is unmatched in pro sports. They can build (what would now be multi-) billion dollar stadiums financed by taxpayers 15 years beyond even sniffing a title.

That's the beauty of Jimbo 's game plans. He likes to get ahead of the chains and be on schedule. He strives to control the game and the ball.

The Cowboys have no semblance of a game plan or offensive philosophy. They are a aimless sloppy team and poorly disciplined.

It's enjoyable reading the frustration of Cowboy fans. Ranks right up there with sip football!

The Dak centric game is what bothers me. Dak was great his rookie year because the cowboys established the ground game and threw off of it. That's always been the recipe for their best teams. After his injury, it makes no sense to force him to be the centerpiece of the offense but that's what wonder kid OC seems to want to do. It puts the OL in unfavorable matchups, keeps Dak on his heels in the pocket and they can't establish any offensive rhythm.

Kyle Shanahan's offense reminds me of Jimbo Fisher's. Like Jimbo, Shanahan likes to get ahead of the chains, stay on schedule, and control the time of possession to keep the defense well rested. Also, he implements a run-heavy offense to reduce the reliance on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's arm to win football games.

I am one of the few Aggies, who is also a 49er fan. It's been a pleasure to brag about the 49ers' 23-17 road win over the Cowboys to Cowboys fans on TexAgs.

I was on vacation in Arizona a few years back talking to a local. When he found out I was from Texas, he asked me what I thought of Jones. I told him I couldn't stand him and have spent decades waiting for him to die or sell before I can root for the Cowboys again. He told me he worked as a guide in Alaska one summer and Jones and some cronies showed up. The trip was12 hours and the group was successful and caught their limit in fish. After returning he got the group squared away, Jones reaches into his pocket and pulls out a huge wad of bills. He takes a minute to rifle through the 100s and pulls out one 20, slaps him on the back and tells him great job.
