SEC is terrible this year.
Bowl games, outside of the CFP, don't tell you anything any more about how conferences stack up against each other. The better a team is, the more likely they will have opt-outs who are only interested in preventing injuries in order to perform well at the Combine, move up in the draft, etc. The current system actually favors upsets because of this. The NFL and the CFP have pretty much ruined all of the bowl games except for the semifinal and final games. The amount of talent from the SEC heading to the NFL is ridiculous in comparison to other conferences. I don't see that changing any time soon.
Except when the SEC wins most of them. Then it's SEC, SEC! A conference that has a couple of highly ranked teams because they beat a bunch of mediocre conference mates is still mediocre.
This all day
Many on this board are often dusting off their knee pads for everything SEC. and discredit everything for every other conference especially Big 12.
Last year we beat a gutted UNC team in orange bowl and nobody here discredited that win.
Year before that we beat an Oklahoma state team by 3 that had its top offensive player opt out and again.. nobody discredited that win
This board acts like the main stream media does.. if it fits your narrative then run with it. If it doesn't fit your narrative then find every angle possible to downplay it
