Topic's been done to death by many different posters over the years.

It's pretty obvious that the hate/ridicule is directed towards randos who come out of the woodwork to attack players after a loss like they're talking about the local NFL team.

Don't know or care about getting an ag tag.

It's very hard to be a t-shirt Aggie fan. You have to make an intelligent rational decision based on factors other than championships. That said, an Aggie is an Aggie but there are several Aggies who have degrees from the school who are total asses.

Support any school you want. Better yet, support A&M.

Joking aside, it turns out that having fans is good for a program whether they have a connection to the school or not.

ANYONE that diminishes the importance of "T-shirt fans" is extremely naive to their importance. Purchasing merchandise, attending games, wearing A&M gear and spreading the word about A&M is incredible!!

There are a lot of people with degrees from A&M who aren't Aggies. There are a lot of people without degrees but with ties to A&M who are Aggies. It's all about the Aggie Spirit. For some, the campus and its traditions are special, for many that went here, it's just a place they went to school.

I went and graduated from A&M but my father, graduated elsewhere but he was a better "ag" than me for sure.

He spent his money there (when I was in school) and even when I graduated he kept donating to school...

A "t shirt fan" is one who looks at the AP poll on Monday morning, goes to their closet, and chooses their daily attire based on it.

Same story here. Got a whole family of Aggies including my two kids. There's no better university out there, but I wasn't in a position to pay out of state tuition after my discharge. I wasn't born in Texas either, but I got here as soon as I could.

I first became a fan of aTm in mid / late 80's, as I, a beginning HS coach, was seated with RC Slocum and Hayden Fry at an FCA breakfast at a coaching clinic. Fast forward to 2008, my youngest son enrolled at aTm. Season tickets and travels to CS to watch many of the Athletic contests. Son graduated in 2012, but we'll still travel to see a regular season game / bowl game every now and then. We went to the Colorado game this year. I was born and raised an Aggie. I was planning on becoming an Aggie, but I got offered to play football at a smaller school. I took that opportunity, and don't regret my decision. I feel like if you have question yourself when the term t-shirt fan comes up....that is a problem. I am a very loyal and always consider myself an Aggie. IMO all fans are welcome but please understand the traditions and that we hold ourselves to a higher standard than other places especially tu.

You're either with us or against us. Don't need to attend A&M to be an Aggie. You cheer or support A&M= Aggie.

Going to A&M doesn't make you an Aggie. The combo of supporting the university and its teams/students as well as living out its core values makes an Aggie.

Degree or no degree….if you're a fan, you're a fan.
And your opinion is worth about as much as mine, and I have a degree, along with my late father and son having one.
The more, the merrier..

Used to be of you wore an A&M t-shirt you probably went to A&M.
