2022 Oconee County (GA) tight end Jake Johnson signs with Texas A&M
Texas A&M has landed one of the best tight ends in America on Signing Day as Oconee County (Bogart, GA) standout Jake Johnson has signed with the Aggies.
A supreme athlete at 6-5, 225 pounds, Johnson was a longtime LSU commit who opened up his recruitment after the season and has ultimately chosen A&M over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida and a host others.
Johnson possesses an outstanding height and length ratio. He’s got long limbs, but he’s sturdy enough to flash plenty of strength at the point of contact. He’s a long, smooth strider who shows an excellent burst at the top of his routes as well as the ability to drop his weight to get efficiently in and out of cuts. You can view his junior tape below.
Johnson’s signature moves the Aggie class to 22 in total, and he joins Dickinson’s Donovan Green and Sweden’s Theodor Melin Öhrström in James Coley’s tight end room.
