This move might have been more for the little brother, to get him out of the play style Kelly is going to have.
I think its a move to improve QB depth. I also think and have heard that Max also understands that he'll get no better tutelage than with Jimbo and I've heard his big picture focus is going into coaching. So it all makes sense to me.

Possibly we can see him in a limited role but I think you are correct in he realizes there will be no big play time. This is why I go back to the choice might have been pushed with the Kelly hire and knowing his brother was on the way. Max might have told him whats going on with the staff and the coaches and pointed to A&M and said follow me.

If Max is going to play for the Aggies it will be either as a Walk On or with an Aggie Scholarship. Doesn't count against the 25 for recruits though.

So, he can come as a Walk-On... wear #12 and be the 2nd 3rd greatest 12th Man?!

My totally uninformed, far out opinion: Stewart will sign with his IG buddy, Denver Harris. In fact, I'll double-down and say that TexAgs filmed a video of them playing 1-on-1 at Kyle Field while Weigman drops dimes and the DJ spins "the Noble Men of Kyle."
