Does he overthrow the swing pass?

No clue, Kyler did both but I would think that would be up to the coaches

Drew Brees was left on hold by Shaun Slocum. Was not a failure to return call. If Weigman is 75 percent as good as JFF he'll be best QB we've ever had besides JFF.

Since Luck, the high school game has totally changed. VY, Tate etc. were players a little ahead of their time since the passing game really started to pick up then. As was mentioned a few years back, when 7v7 came along in Texas, so did the passing game.

Hell, Koy Detmer killed it back in the day at Mission but he was one of the few that slung the ball around. Most teams were still run heavy with 1-2 TE sets.

I saw Brees and Weigman both play in HS. They're not that comparable because Brees wasn't a great runner. He was a great high school QB though and wasn't heavily recruited because he wasn't tall enough. Today that wouldn't be weighted so heavily.

Weigman is a great runner. I don't think he's as good a passer as Brees was but it's not due to physical skills. Brees always was way ahead on making reads and accurate passes to the right receiver throughout his career. Weigman is comparable to Manziel...he has a chance to be an all time great.

Luck was bigger and more physical qb but he didn't play in a spread hurry up offense in HS. Weigman can compete with who we have on campus as a qb right now. If he picks up the offense quickly and they allow a qb competition i believe he will win that competition. Jimbo doesn't want to play a true freshman but this is not a typical player.

So you are telling me he is going to play baseball and be ready to start next year.

He's 6'2". Much bigger than Johnny or Russell Wilson.

For all we know, Jimbo and Dickey are going to pull in some of the offense Dickey ran at Memphis with the mobility we have at QB…

The offense will look a lot different in the coming years.

Drew Brees was not much of a prospect.
He only received 2 scholarship offers… Purdue and Kentucky.

A&M wouldn't even return his phone call.
Drew played HS ball and won a state title at Westlake about 20 minute from the Texas campus and both his parents are Aggies yet neither school wanted him.

We better hope history doesn't repeat itself with Klubnik. Austin Westlake and Aggie parents. The only difference is that he is highly rated. I hope Jimbo choose right.
