3pm press conference is basically OU Pres and AD doing the Kevin Bacon "All is Well" routine before introducing Bob Stoops as interim coach.

I think Aranda stays at Baylor & I think Fickell stays at Cincinnati. The gap in money has closed. Every coach is crazy rich now. Even the UTSA coach just got a bump to almost 3 million/year. I think some dudes just wanna coach & be happy and raise their family. The playoff has created a world where 40-50 teams think they're worthy, and there's only 4 slots. It makes a lot of unhappy fanbases, which ratchets up the pressure. Ohio State & Oregon will probably play for the Rose Bowl, which used to be their ultimate goal, but instead both those fanbases are pissed. Some coaches probably don't wanna deal with that sh*t.

You make some good points about how a rational person might view things but I don't think most coaches see things like this. Besides, the playoffs will expand -- next year or the year after -- and fan bases are only going to become more entitled-minded. If Baylor wins the Big 12 this year and he stays, but doesn't win it next year, he'll see pressure there. Not saying they'll run him out (they won't) but he'll hear about it. If he's going to get the business, it might as well be at LSU or wherever.

If I am OU I am hiring mark stoops. A really good coach who may be a great coach with better talent. Throw in the pending move to the sec me thinks it has to be a coach with sec experience.
I think he should be in discussion for lots of jobs, but it would be weird to go to OU with big brother hanging around. And they would get bashed for nepotism, given Bob's influence with the program.
