Yeah. My first thought when his stripper's monkey assaulted some kid was yeah, just fire the guy.

But he's VERY much so tied to Sark because it was a big deal in the media when Sark was able to convince Banks to leave Bama and go with him. Sark is responsible for all coaches he brings in, but it feels like Banks has had a bit of spotlight compared because of all it meant for Sark to bring him from Bama to be his assistant head coach. That being said, Sark is going to do everything he can to right the ship before he admits he made a bad choice for his staff and fires them in year 1.

I was thinking about this on the drive into work this morning; coupled with the comments about the athletic dept offices being turned into a club atmosphere.

WHO was signing off on this sort of crap? Then a level above, who was signing off on this mess? Are you telling me the AD had no idea that the football offices apparently looked like a damn night club? Why were heads not rolling sooner? Or did the wheels just totally fall off of this train between the 2016 and into the 2017 seasons when Sumlin was canned?

As to the idea that "we could be in this position" it seems like we might have been damn close in 2016/2017. Hopefully, that disaster is part of what led to Sumlin's firing.

In my book, especially "offices that look like night clubs" is a loss of institutional control. With what we're hearing coming out of Austin, it sounds to me like they could well be on the cusp of that very situation.

IMO they are a victim of their own and the media's inflated expectations. They have a new coach and that often comes with growing pains as the culture, philosophy and playbook changes. Yet, for some reason everyone thought they were going to come in and compete for a CFP spot right away. There was no logical reason to think that.

I think what we're seeing is the normal gnashing of teeth that comes with a new coaching staff. The stripper and monkey don't help. And FWIW I hate them and want only the worst for them. Unfortunately they are never going to go away.

This is a problem easily solved by money so it should be easy for horn to solve. It's not like the current location is great so moving it could be a huge upgrade.

It's also worth considering that we will all probably be dead and gone before that boondoggle is complete by Austin road improvement standards.
