The good news is that Zack has steadily improved over the last 3 weeks...along with the rest of the football team.Alpha Texan said:
Hell yeah! I've been wrong about this team! I even started this thread by pointing out that as of halftime of the Arkansas game, I'm 0-3 when it comes to predicting our wins and losses in SEC play. I even just ate crow in another thread for saying CBS sentenced us to public execution on national TV on primetime!
I've been "hopefully doubtful" of Calzada all year.
Here's another thread where I said that I hope that Calzada can evolve into a GAME MANAGER. A GAME MANAGER???? The guy was a frickin ICON on Saturday. My saying his ceiling was a game manager is frickin embarassing! Hell yeah, I've been mad. People like you and me who own up to it and are learning not to make emotional overreactions aren't the problem!
Here's another thread where I defended him and said that even though he isn't playing great, I love having him as a QB because of the passion he brings to the position. Zach said, "screw that Alpha Texan guy, I'll play with passion AND I'll play like I want to play on Sundays, too!"
Ever since he came in, I've been supportive of Zach and believed that he could do enough for us to win the games we should win. I never expected the guy to become a stud and pick Bama apart like some cool hand Luke. Even I, who has been one of the more optimistic Calzada guys aside from a few moments where I overreacted severely underestimated how much he could do.
Well said and Gig'em Viper!
I'm attributing that to coaching and the players reaching deep inside themselves to bring a higher level of playing performance onto the field.
My doubts about him him have essentially gone away.
Will he and the football team make mistakes in the future? We all know they will.
Let's hope there is not the typical let down of performance after a monumental win this coming Saturday against Mizzu.
I watched a lot of Aggie Football over the years..(since the '60's)...the good and the bad.
Let's all hope this stellar performance on Saturday night is the start of something wonderful for all Aggies.
