My understanding is that the defense is not allowed to clap, only the quarterback can to snap the ball. So if the defense claps, it disrupts that and basically could force the offense to false start immediately.

So, in short, you can't clap on defense.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

It was the clapping. Defense can't clap like that when the offense is using it to snap the ball. It'd be the same as if a defender was yelling out the cadence pre snap.

One of our defenders was clapping. That's forbidden for defenses since the QB often claps to signal the snap. Same call as when defensive linemen yell out play calls to confuse the offense.
