In all fairness, Duke also won its division in 2013, and gave us a good game in the Peach Bowl.

I know, we played them tight last year, but was checking out sec scores this morning and geez, they got blown out by east Tennessee state at home.
I'd swap Vtech and NCST for ou and tu any day of the week.

Asking this question is like the liberal californian moving to Texas and complaining that it's too conservative.

Bring back Tulane then...

Tulane like Georgia tech voluntarily left the conference. The sec needs a private school, thinking vandy should leave because they're not a good program is silly.

I think your the same poster that told me they want an SEC school to protect the conference from FOI requests. Assuming that's true they are safe for now.

But I still think the end game will not include Vanderbilt, wake Forest, Duke, or any other private school.

Ole Miss and MSU will also be gone.

Every conference has at least one.

Well, except the Big12.

That's rich. A school who has been in the SEC 80 years less, calling to boot a founding member out. We are starting to sound like sips.
Nah - a sip would come at it sideways and recommend expanding by another several blue blood schools. Then they'd say "the league is too big and too disparate - lets branch off into promotion & relegation leagues where (for the sake of the little guys of course). Then, they'd craft a metric to for relegation like viewers or 'brand value' so that they always stayed in the upper league. And of course the upper league teams would take a larger slice of the pie.

And they'd do all of this with support from the rest of the largest schools who have already proven that things like a handshake or honor or loyalty to your fans are now outdated concepts in the $outh.

Yes they will. They will go to the second tier.

I don't know if it will be five years or fifteen, but eventually we will have somewhere between a 30-40 team league very similar to the NFL. Old charter members of all leagues will be a meaningless badge. Ole Miss, Oregon State, NC State, etc. Those teams will be left out of the end game. Nobody will squeak in because of their legacy.

Sucks and I don't like it anymore than the stupid DJ. But it is clear as day that we are heading that direction.

Look at it this way. Did you ever think OU and t.u would be SEC. Ever think we would allow players to be paid? How about a major conference imploding.

It is happening

Yep. So will MSU and Ole Miss. Possibly Arkansas too.

Because UT needs at least one competitive game a year.
