Simple yes no question
The last line I saw was A&M -28.
Well we cover?
I say yes but, it will be close.

I thought the same thing when we played Vandy last year. I hope we cover this year, but staying away from this bet. I stuck with Minn, LSU, ULL, and Georgia this week.

I don't think so.

We will win, and win well, but some drives will be blown up by turnovers.

37-6 late td by Kent st makes it 37-13. Ags win convincingly but fail to cover.

Taking the points for Minn/tOSU? Brave. Or O/U?

My apologies; I should've clarified. I took the spread on each of the previously mentioned teams. But I did buy some extra points for Minn to get to +14.5.

I would stay away from -28. Kent State had the best offense in D1 football last year and most of them are back Now, it was against a MAC schedule, but still.

We have one of the best defenses in the SEC.

They play 4 games with 3 against teams ranked 105, 123, 126 in total Defense. There are 127 teams in FBS

I don't trust Jimbo to cover. I trust him to win, but rolling up a 28 point win doesn't seem his style.

Concur. It does not seem to be his style.
I just expect us to overwhelm them physically and wear them down.

LSU to cover while they don't even have access to their facilities this week and many of them under the stress of most the people they know and families losing homes is risky,

The bookies and the Vegas casinos must love Texas A&M. A school that could produce fans where exactly half of them are on the right side of the line every game, every week.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.

We have to be +1 in TDs for each quarter. Very doable if we don't turn the ball over.

As I said, I know they played a MAC schedule last year and their stats were inflated. But this is still a good D1 offense.

When you include the two inevitable scrub time TDs, I expect us to need to score +45 to cover that spread. I envision us running the ball on 60-70% of our downs cause we want to grind them to death.

Don't see how we get close to 50 without opening up the offense a lot more than we want to against Kent State.

I do think we will need to score 42+ to cover but their offense is probably overrated.

I'm staying away for at least the first two weeks.

With Mond at QB we played to ball control and grind out wins. ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that, it got us an Orange Bowl after all, but it was madness to bet overs or take the Ags to cover the spread with that offense.

Now, does a new QB and some different pass catchers open us up more? Remains to be seen.

Major rule of sports betting is NEVER bet on anything you are emotionally invested in.

Find another bet.
Maybe Oklahoma -31 vs Tulane. They're a playoff candidate with possibly their last year of an easy playoff path so Riley won't let off the gas. And Rattler is the Heisman front runner so Riley will be looking to have him put up video game numbers. Tulane also has the hurricane aftermath as a distraction. They don't have electricity in New Orleans. How are they making final preparations for an unexpected road trip? Are their minds elsewhere with families and friends who lost things to the storm?
Lots of things working against Tulane.

Smart. Covering the Vegas spread is probably the last thing Jimbo cares about. First game of the season against a relatively weak opponent -- I'm guessing he will want to evaluate some players in the second half who won't get much playing time against stronger opponents. He'll make sure the Ags win but no guarantee on the margin of victory.

I like this bet. Oklahoma always seems to get up 50-0 by half in these types of games. Throw in the hurricane etc and I think 31 and the Sooners is a good call. Plus there are rumors swirling that OU may actually field a defense this year instead of using air.

It's actually a valid point and I left it out of my breakdown.
They had a decent defense last year with the #28 ranked scoring defense......tied with A&M.
With 8 returning starters it's a reason a few places have them ranked #1 preseason. Projected to be their best defense in last 10 years.
It's still more a play on their offense and the distractions faced by Tulane.
Riley won't pull Rattler until well into the 4th qtr if at all and by then he'll have 400+ yards and 5 TDs. Need to keep those Heisman stats padded.

Vandy would beat these guys by 14.

They played a four-game season in the worst conference in America. Three of the defenses they played were ranked below 100.

Some of you guys need to learn how to interpret statistics. They don't exist in a vacuum.

No way I touch that. Kent state is a good team. They've got an experienced qb and will be very well coached.
