Miss Rev does not give this vibe because she is pampered like all mascots.

This. If I were making a list it'd be hard for me to call a Reveille an actual mascot the way other universities do.

The Silver Spurs (the student organization that cares for/transports/handles Bevo) are very insistent they don't sedate him for games, they just pick show steers that have a fairly bomb-proof temperament. Not in a position to verify one way or the other but that's what they say.


They need a temperament like Gus:

Idea: keep rev to keep the women happy. But, move the snake from the Chicken to a tank behind the visitors sideline. We can call him "Hissy the Angry Aggie Rattler brought to you by The Dixie Chicken". No way that doesn't make a top 5 list.

1) I miss seeing Ol' Sarge everywhere.

2) Can we have the Corps be considered our live mascot? They're alive, and they represent our university (and country).

I think a Doberman might be swell. Lassie is not real intimidating.
I have always liked the rescue dog (mutt) concept, but I think the Aggies missed on a chance when the Blue Lacy became the State Dog of Texas in 2005. This is a working/hunting dog that's smart and good-looking. I would much rather Reveille be one of these than a show dog.

We should go back to having a black dog, shepherd type. My vote is to change our mascot to a Rottweiler. Pure bred. Big, strong, happy, with tail on.

Thank You!!! Even Reveille II. a shetland sheperd, was not a bottle nosed, in bred, dumb mutt.
