Yes, that would have even better. When Senator Lois Kolkhorst said, "3-7 against the Horned Frogs", she must be thinking since 2007 because Texas crushed TCU 34-13 that year. Before 2007, the last time TCU played Texas was 12 years earlier in 1995.dixichkn said:

Yet, Gary Patterson led TCU to a Big 12 Co-Championship with Baylor in 2014, and they finished 12-1 and No 3 that year. In 2015, TCU finished 11-2 and No. 7. After a disappointing 6-7 finish in 2016, TCU made a Big 12 Championship Appearance in 2017 and finished 11-3 and No. 9. Since joining the Big 12, TCU is 7-2 against Texas, including 4-1 in Austin. I've known Senator Kolkhorst for pretty much my entire life and have been blessed to call her and her husband friends. She's a proud TCU alumni and a huge Horned Frogs fan. I can only imagine the rush of excitement she felt when Hartzel teed it up for her.

While the comments are painfully accurate in depicting the overall pathetic condition of t.u. football..the reality is that there is no law prohibiting t.u. from joining the SEC.
There is just a lot of legal threats about how much they will have to pay the remaining B12 members for bailing early.

PUF value is about $17.5b today, 5% of that is $875m split 2/3 to tu and 1/3 to A&M... let's call it $600m per year for tu. That's hardly chump change. There's no reason that the legislature couldn't say "we're changing the splits to 1/3 tu, 1/3 A&M, 1/3 various other public universities in the State". That's a pretty big stick to wield, though with Abbot as Gov it seems highly unlikely to happen.woodlees said:

PUF is $24B, UT getting about $1.7B. A&M about $850m. That committee has nothing to do with the PUF.
