There is no way they're going to restructure two entire conferences and set new schedules for 24 teams a month before kickoff. But yes, it seems like things wouldn't be moving so fast if the vote wasn't a foregone conclusion at this point.

The SEC vote will be "yes, you can join....... in 2025 (now figure it out with the Big 12 if you want to get here quicker."

It's going to be longer, ugly, and $ painful if OU and cow want to accelerate it to 2022 or even 2023.

There are eight (8) other parties that have to be as confident in their future as OU and cow are before the latter are green-lighted to the SEC, short of them paying the exit fee penalty.

This is noting like A&M leaving. I expect some actual legal action, not baylor rattling it's plastic kid saber at A&M until they knew the Big 12 wasn't imploding when we left. Now, they all know the Big 12 IS imploding and t.u. and OU are throwing the other 8 an anchor for a life vest.

Fine by me if they don't join until 2024 or 2025. My guess is 2023.

I'm guessing it will be 7-5 against until a late-night water pipe burst in SEC headquarters. By morning, it will be 13-0.

You have to admit that four home conference games against ANY likely seven other teams in a future West is an upgrade. Especially if they move the Cotton Bowl RRR game to home stadiums.

This vote is way too premature, in my view. Not saying it should never happen but this is being too rushed. Not all of the t's have been crossed nor i's dotted. I think some parties are waiting for the vote before filing suit.

SEC position is always that it isnt buying a lawsuit. acceptance will ABSOLUTELY be conditioned on them being 100% legally free to move.


In other words, "welcome aboard, as soon as you're free"

Things continuing moving much faster than any of us expected. I won't be surprised if Oklahoma and Texas join the SEC in 2022. If the SEC keeps divisions and implements 9-game conference schedules, they will eliminate the permanent cross-division matchups, which means we would no longer play South Carolina every year. Also, that would probably mean scraping all SEC cross-division rotations for 2022 through 2025:

2022: Florida (home)
2023: Tennessee (away)
2024: Georgia (home)
2025: Kentucky (away)
