Brent strongly insinuated on Twitter the other day that it wasn't an A&M source.

Several reporters have also mentioned they've been hearing whispers for months. I imagine that while Brent was writing this piece, talking to old contacts around the league, he was asking them all if there was anything to the tu / OU smoke, and someone eventually said, "Yes."

Didn't he say it was a high up university source he's known for years? And it's apparently someone who was around during the last reallignment.

One wild-ass guess I'll throw out there is Kevin Eltife. Regent now, was an influential state senator for the last round. Fat Ketch mentioned him the other day as being a different breed from the old UT regime, and someone who's a serious sports fan.

The sops try to upstage our media day every year for decades. Look back. They always have a player commit that day or release something.

This year the news breaks during our press conference and TexAgs sleuths are completely shocked and have no idea where it came from.

She's one of the Galveston Moody's. Are they tied to tu? No clue...

Not that it matters of affects his ability to communicate but Buz just got married to a hot young wife who is mid 20's - went to SMU - and an heir to the Moody $$ in Galveston and they have been in Greece and Italy the last two weeks. He isn't thinking about this, I bet... or if he is it's the best cover ever to be gone while it happens. lol

Buzbee had time to troll Watson with details about his massages while on his honeymoon. I don't doubt he could have pulled off a phone call to a reporter too. However I have no reason to believe it was him more than any other possible source.
