Everything I loved about college football playing for the name on the front of jersey and traditions is almost completely.. no 1 year transfer rule, basically no salary cap and a business can pay a player whatever they want, about to get to 16-20 team conferences. Honestly, it's free agency every year with 1 year contracts. Don't like your playing time or another business wants you on their team so they go make a better a deal to play at their school.

so why do they even need academic requirements if the ncaa has no power anymore ? How long until a stud recruit non qualifier just files a lawsuit saying ncaa qualifying standards are not legal due to his right to work..?
Why not go full on minor leagues ? Just get paid to play wearing this jersey no need to go to class and be a student. Just build your brand and get followers to get $$

Yep

The school with the gold will win the gold.

Don't know why everyone is worried about who is in the sec. Players going to be players.

We ain't sheep school, we have more money than most if not all. Our campus around the stadium looks like Rome.

1200 acres.

Tudoenst have anything on us nor does OU. OU use to pay players and it would go unreported in Oklahoma. Doesn't matter any more, we can outbid anybody.

Ending the scam of the NCAA and its multi-million dollar, taxpayer-subsidized hq in Indianapolis might be the only good thing to come out of all the massive changes down the pike.

I would think so. It is the only logical next step.

Imagine being a professor and trying to fail a football player making 100k a year.

Probably closer to a month.

When Saban says his Qb will make a million dollar before throwing his first pass, what will others pay him if he is really good.

Anyone say portal.

Have you read any posts of the grads too.. there were still some academic requirements that's why some good recruits had to go juco and players were drilled required to pass 12 hrs semester and have progress toward degree each year. Most time it didn't matter but the point was basically why do they even need to be students
