There will be no petition, it's called junk mail.

This reaction is exactly why it was reported right before A&Ms press conference. Sounds and looks like it's working. Big picture is SEC let it happen during A&M's press conference which tells you what that relationship is all about. Combine that with A&M's relationship with ESPN. If it does happen and if A&M stays in the conference, it could be tough for a school with no allies. I'd begin looking for alternatives bow tie prez.AGinHI said:That it is. Well, Ags it's been a good whole ten years.
There is no extra money with either tu or OU in the conference._mpaul said:Surely not. What worries me is that Bjork publicly speaks against it but behind the scenes advocates for it because he wants the extra money. He has no loyalty to A&M. He wasn't around when we had to put up with tu's **** year after year. "So let's get them in, guys, but A&M has to vote know."W said:it looks that way.HoustonAg2106 said:W said:

also looks like A&M and Bjork may have been blind-sided --- the league office did not provide a courtesy heads-up

BAS all over the place.
SEC is a horrible fit for Texas and OU.
That play offense only style of football has shown to be weak AF against SEC defenses.
They bring nothing to the table that the SEC wants and the longhorn network is an anchor around the sips' neck the SEC wants no part of.
The SEC iS about the SEC.
And tu is all about tu.
This is a push to get OU and the sips a better deal out of the BDF.

This post is perfectly exemplifies the arrogance of what drove us away to greener pastures 10 years ago. Their fans hear one story about how they asked to be let in, and the fan base automatically assumes they are automatically getting in and everyone in the conference they know nothing about likes them more than us.
Get bent.

I feel like everyone is forgetting that 11/14 teams have to approve this. A&M, Arkansas, and LSU will most likely say no, and then it only takes one more team to reject.
Best possible scenario (and this is completely impossible but its fun to entertain) is that we accept OU and reject tu.

There won't be any no votes. This isn't about football to these schools, it's all about money. Presidents and regents will not turn down a big pay day.

They are two blue bloods and major football brands. They bring plenty of new eyes to the conference. You are thinking about the old days with TV sets. Everything is streamed now all over the country. Also, this would make the SEC the first super conference with 16 teams so a new tv deal will be made. I would also bet the LHN deal goes away and that money will go towards the new deal as well. I hope it doesn't happen but presidents and regents will be all over this for the almighty dollar.

According to the 12th Man Foundation, Texas A&M has played in five regular-season conference football games in the SEC that were watched by more than seven million viewers. Over that same span, the Big 12 had one game total that drew that many fans.
This tu's national draw is overrated. Look at how popular the lhn is. If you have a good team people tend to watch, but if you have a mediocre one the casual interest goes way down. People mistake a period for when they were a legit national power as being a legit national draw all the time.ChemEAg08 said:Jbob04 said:
