Our marketing people think waaaay too much.

Ol' Sarge is an absolutely CLASSIC logo ala the ND leprechaun. Personally I think Sarge painted at the 50 yard line would be incredible.

It *is* a classic logo. This isn't an olds thing, my kids Class of '15 and '19 bought apparel with that logo and love it. I thought it was too old fashioned when I was an undergrad in the early 80s, turns out it's timeless and instead all my "trendy" gear from that era is in the landfill today.

I heard, could be wrong, that Gates of all people didn't like Sarge, the image it portrayed. When I was growing up in the '60s and '70s, seems like you could get Ol' Sarge anything.

I think Ol' Sarge is awesome. I agree with what is said above, too much thinking.

I've got a lot of family in Indiana (the company founder is a big Hoosier fan) and so I've obtained a couple shirts and a sweater. The shirts fit well and feel good, the sweater is the absolute comfiest item in my closet.

Assuming they have some nice Aggie designs my wallet is gonna take a hit this weekend.

I've always been a lot more partial to this version of Ol' Sarge than the one you posted. Back in the early 90's the bookstores at A&M sold A&M baseball caps with that logo stitched into the back. I still have mine (30 years old now) but the stitching is so worn, you can't really tell what it is anymore. Man, I sure wish they'd bring this back!!


SFA completely ripped off the version of the one you posted -- hell, they probably paid to use it but I'm going with ripped off -- as seen below).

Yeah it's definitely not enough that the TV cameras have to zoom in on the weirdest bunch of dorks imaginable 15 times a game, as if our entire school is made up of Corps dudes; let's throw one in the middle of the field as well!
