Hey, Ags! This post starts off sad but gets better I promise.
My mom (class of '75) passed away early this year. While we were going through her things, I came across a box of old 35mm kodak film. I felt I needed to transfer these so I could see what's on them and preserve, so I sent it off to a transfer service and paid a pretty penny to get 26 4 minute rolls of film converted to digital and cleaned up.
Most of the film is of my mother age 2 to 7 as well as of her uncle, my great uncle (class of '57), and his time down in College Station. There is quite a bit of really great footage and even some of my mom as little girl with Reveille II and posing with Sully.
Now to the football related part. One of the rolls was of a football game. As I watched, I got to different levels of realization which heightened my excitement.
1. Cool! It's a sip rivalry game.
2. Wait! My great uncle was class of '57, so this is Bear Bryant Junction Boy era!
3. This footage is all from his senior year and the game is in Austin so it's the '56 game!
I thought the appropriate place to share with the public for the first time would be this forum, because I've gotten a lot out of it over the years and figured this was a great way to give back. It is linked below for your enjoyment.
I keep analyzing this thing frame by frame and here are a few cool details you'll find:
I would appreciate if someone could contact me on how I can share this and the other great Aggie footage (including a lot of the Corps, the Fish Drill Team, and random shots of Aggieland) with any official historical archive or the like.
Staff, feel free to reach out to me about using or archiving this video. There is also another transfer that has the Corps marching through Austin and a little bit of footage from the beginning of the game with the team running on. (And if you want to help me get this other non-football footage in the right hands, I'd appreciate that as well).
Without further ado:

I keep analyzing this thing frame by frame and here are a few cool details you'll find:
- There is a John David Crow touchdown run captured near the beginning
- Good footage of the band and Reveille II running around the field
- Good footage of the team running out after halftime and if you go frame by frame you can make out Gene Stallings, John David Crow, Jack Pardee, and others
- You can see the corps start to rush the field at the end
- You can see them lifting up a player, which when I slowed the film down, turned out to be Pardee
