2022 Haslet Eaton offensive lineman Hunter Erb commits to Texas A&M
In late January, Texas A&M extended an offer to Haslet (TX) Eaton 2022 offensive lineman Hunter Erb.
He did not need much time to figure out his college choice, and on Saturday, the 6-foot-7, 300-pound standout decided he was ready to commit to the Aggies.
As a junior, Erb has been one of the fastest rising offensive linemen in Texas since the end of the season, with offers arriving from Ole Miss, Houston, Texas A&M, Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and USC. The size immediately attracts attention, but Erb is also flexible with quick feet and a mean streak in the trenches. He prides himself on his physical style of play and enjoys grinding opponents into the ground.
Josh Henson has led Texas A&M’s recruiting efforts, and the two connected from the start.
“He is a great guy, and I feel like we really connected when we started talking,” Erb said. “He is a coach that really wants to create a bond with his players.”
With his commitment, Erb becomes Texas A&M’s fifth commitment of the 2022 recruiting class. He is the second offensive lineman, joining PJ Williams of Dickinson, and he is the first DFW-area prospect in the class.
As a junior in 2020, Erb had an overall offensive line grade of 90-percent, with 15 pancakes, 32 knockdowns and zero sacks allowed on his way to first-team all-district honors.
