I guess some people never learn that the only way to really know is to just let them play the games. The complete confidence by everyone that bama would play Clemson in the final just proves people don't know jack and will never know till we let them prove it on the field. Expand now.

The problem with Ohio State is the 5 game regular season and having the Big10 to change the rules on the fly several times to help them out. They are talented, no doubt, but the way they got in is unethical and unfair to teams that played a significant number of more games.

This.

There wasn't much doubt that tOSU was one of four most talented team and would be favored over anyone but ND and Bama. The issue was whether they deserved a spot based on their small schedule.

Regardless of outcome, they did not deserve a spot.

The issue is not them being good or not. The issue is them not having to play out the war of attrition.
This! Every other school had to navigate the season with injuries, COVID, etc.... tOSU had its conference change rules to benefit it. If not for a rule change, they only play 5 games. If not for a rule change, many players miss the CFP semi-finals. Its the "preferential" treatment that tOSU received that people have a problem with.

But this board told me we'd dominate ohio state.
Yet more evidence that 99.9% of this board have no ****ing clue what they are talking about.

And as far as "projecting" who would beat who, 100% have no idea what will happen.

This poster included. I thought Fields was trash, but he has been outplaying Sunshine this game.

Just my take, but that game last night was WON at the Line of Scrimmage. The Clemson OLine couldn't block, and the D-Line couldn't put pressure on the QB.
Besides, I suspect the lack of Respect they Rec'd from Dabo, and everyone else that said about Not Enough Games, while maybe true, sure got them Fired up.
tOSU didn't play that well against NW, but did play well last night.

It will be interesting to see which teams plays their best in the NC.

NO.... tOSU was 1 of the most vocal about playing.
Players, parents, alumni, etc.

I put most of that on the B1G and the Gov's in tose Liberal Lockdown, how much pain can we impose on the population states.

Not going to disagree with those arguing about min games, does that Give Them an advantage or not.

The rule was changed / corrected by the Big Ten because they made a stupid rule. The rule was to prevent a team to duck its tough opponents, go 3-0 and make the championship game. Ohio State could have lost the game to Michigan and still won their division. Them changing that rule didn't have any bearing on the CFP. Ohio State would have still played a 6th game and against a better team in Iowa. The Big Ten championship would have never been played because Indiana was shut down for COVID. The argument still is, is six games fair? Is it the 4 most best teams or the most deserving? It's a big grey area. As long as Jimbo improves the the NAME, which he he heading in the right direction, this same situation might just even push TAMU over the top in these playoff selections.

The Ohio team didn't deserve to play in this game. They didn't earn the trip. 5 wins vs nobody.

Why is college football not like basketball with a decent tournament instead of just this nonsense. If Texas Aggies and ou are the best teams at year end they deserve a shot. Let's just apply this to college basketball and have a Duke, Kansas, UCLA, Kentucky tournament. Gonzaga doesn't belong. Just the big names. Or skip straight to the Packers v Steeler Super Bowl. They are historically better than KC, Seattle, New Orleans and Buffalo. Why both playing the games?

Either fix this with an 8 or 16 team field or just ban all 4 teams from coming back the following year. Either way you get a better result.

Hey, I agree with you in that they dominated Clemson and looked great.

HOWEVER, THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE RULES FOR THEM TO GET IN THE CFP!!

They didn't deserve it based on the rules they made prior to the season.

------ NOBODY has an argument for this FACT --------------------

Rules were made by the b10 conference prior to the season and they had to change those rules in order for their favorite to be eligible for their conference championship--they shouldn't have been in the CFP to begin with as they didn't play enough games.

No, they don't

No one doubted them being a good team. It's the fact they played 6 games. 6. That's a significant competitive advantage. Less chances to lose, less games to get beat up, have injuries, etc.

tOSU should have been illegible. .

It is also how they looked in those 6 games! If they played those other teams like they got up to play tonight, we would at least say they looked the part.

But remember they looked like ****, losing to NW late in the 3rd and only beating Indiana by 7. They hadnt played nearly as good as they played tonight all season.

They slept thru their boring half of a B1G slate and made the playoffs where they decided to show up and play.

Total mockery of the grind of the regular season.

They now have great rhythm going into the championship game playing their 3rd straight game.
This all day long. Not to mention the injuries that come with the grind.

For me it was never about if they had the talent or were good enough to compete for a title. Of course they do/are. But I still think the NCAA should have had a minimum game requirement to compete in postseason play.

You might want to check out who didn't play for Northwestern. Their all-american CB would account for 6 pick-sixes and their starting running back would've put up 900 yards rushing, at least. (Yeah, I'm being sarcastic and making fun of you, but there is a reason Gus was fired and no he wouldn't account for 14 pts with this team)

Anyways, anybody who thinks TAMU would have more than a punchers chance against O$U is out of their mind. O$U's defense would absolutely abuse Mond. Look what they did to Lawrence. O$U would skull****k TAMU and anybody who knows that game of football knows that is being kind.

I'm sure we won't discredit the results of tonights game when we win by 20, (oops, it's going to take our best to win) despite everybody UNC has sitting out. 3,000 yards of offense sitting out! Does that count? Transitive property works or WUT?

Okay. Doesnt change anything
So as you sit in your den, all puckered up and hoping for a bowl win over a UNC team that is missing 3,000 yds of offense. Remind me again how TAMU is going to beat O$U?

Sermon would run for 150 on TAMU and I'm probably being kind.

When Bama crushes Ohio they will drop to 7-1 with just a blowout loss to Bama. We are 9-1 with just an early season loss to a better Bama team. We should be ranked ahead of Ohio. Number 2. Just logic.

The only way TAMU gets appropriately ranked #2 is if they're getting ranked as the #2 reason a person has to use the toilet.

This is an above average team who benefited in the w-l column from a weak year in the SEC and a bowl opponent who lost their gamebreakers. They'd get spanked by a Manziel led team, who still wasn't good enough to win an SEC championship. No denying that.
