Well, I've had a cop ***** at me for pulling over immediately instead of going 1/4 mile to the next exit and a gas station and know others who've been threatened with arrest for doing just that. You never know. Some cops just feel a burning desire to be *** holes.

As an aside, if you put your blinkers on while driving to the gas station they're not supposed to be able to say anything.

I say we give him a stern talking to and a slap on the back. We are SEC & this is a very talented guy. But he does need to chill out with the stupid. If he sucked I'd kick him to the curb, but he does not.

That type of mentality should go over well in our locker room.

Slaps on the wrist are how you win championships. The dude was driving fast, happens to the best of us. Why should he get kicked off the team for that?

Yeah, driving fast. Is that all?

Maybe you missed the part where he was charged with a felony AND ALSO got arrested for weed just 3 weeks earlier.

Morris isn't a victim of circumstance in these situations. He put himself into these positions by poor choices, defiant behavior and complete disregard for team rules and the law.

There is a huge range on these cases. Some are the cop being touchy. Most involve substantial stupidity.

ETA: ...on the part of the defendant.

Locker room is not like the Cub scouts. They won't freak out because a guy was driving recklessly. Pretty sure Ryan McCollum had a driving too fast incident and he is one of our leaders now.

Super disappointing, he impressed everyone at the UA game.

Hope he gets his act together cuz he's a darn good player. There's a whole lot of line talent coming in behind him that will take his spot if he doesn't.

Some players need a family environment. When I visited friends for the the Clemson game last year I was surrounded by Elijah Thomas posters. I was so glad that after he transferred there from Aggieland, that he had a friendly foundation.

He gone. I've heard rumors of academic issues with him, as well.

Was hoping he could have a solid career here. Looks like it's gonna have to happen somewhere else.

Bet you guys it's still up to him to turn it around at this point. Now, will he? IDK. But I doubt he's 100% off the team if he does the right things moving forward.

I have gotten booked for evading arrest. I was speeding and passed a cop who was stopped by the side of the road. It took them almost 2 minutes to catch up to me... When they did it was because I was stopped at a red light. I did not even know they were following me. Took me out of the car at gun point and took me to jail. The charge did not stand after we got the copy's of the tape from the camera. .... Did not get a refund for my 20k legal fees.

Not giving up on him yet. He didn't kill, rape, distribute, or steal- which would be automatic goodbye. Let it play out before writing him off. Good luck to Chris.

Arrested twice in less than 60 days. Don't hold your breath

Yeah, unfortunately we've been down this road many times in the past where a player strays off the path and I can't recall a single instance where they've gotten their act together and stuck around.

I guess we could do like LSU and put it to a team vote.

Absolutely this. As another poster referenced, police can technically arrest for any traffic offense (what people think of as ticket) except speeding and another I can't recall for certain (think it's failure to demonstrate financial responsibility (car insurance)).

Disappointed for us and for the young man (not really so much for the weed), but 2 law enforcement contacts in that short a period of time doesn't bode well for him or us.

I don't know any of the details about this guy or this incident, but I do know big time football programs find a way to deal with these things internally and keep good players around.

For those of you that may not know, Moose Muhammad's dad played for Saban at Michigan St. and got in some kind of trouble. Saban gave him a second chance and he went on to be very successful on and off the field. There is a Saban press conference somewhere on the interwebs where Saban uses this example when discussing what could happen if you give an 18-22 year old forgiveness and guidance.

Seems fishy. Bet that UNC has paid off people to try to get our players falsely accused of crimes so they can't play the bowl game.

Two different cops from two different departments in less than a month doesn't scream burning desires to being ass holes.

What's the common denominator in those two situations?
They're both cops?

Similar thing happened to Von Miller his freshman year. Sherman was hard on him but because Von had a good father in his ear he stayed the course and improved his attitude and habits.

It goes back to parenting and specifically fathers taking ownership and interest in their sons' behavior. No clue where Morris is with this, but that will make all the difference.
