I am here to admit I was wrong. I believed I the College Football Championship Committee and the ideals they were founded on. I believed thier goal was to get the 4 best teams and bypass the bias and problems with the poll system. Today they proved me wrong, they decided to turn thier back on everything they stood for. We are back the the MNC error. We should just go back to allowing the media to vote our champions like the old system, this one is no longer valid.

No this is just an example of what will always happen in any system. The Nth team left out just outside of the playoff or BCS or media voting will always be in this position.

I'm with you op. I thought we were 100% in after that massacre yesterday. ND showed the first Clemson W only happened because of covid and the only other noteworthy W on their entire schedule was a solid but not great win against UNC.

Its not rigged. A bunch of us told the OP all week last week what the committee would look at and that the ND resume would look better.

They were not going to discount the first Clemson win so much to be a non factor.

Clemson > UF
UNC > Auburn

10-1 vs 8-1.

Thats all they looked at.

Pissed we didn't get in, but it's honestly bama and Clemson and then consolation teams. ND is deserving. Don't think osu is but it really doesn't matter. A win in a NY6 bowl is better than getting blown out in the semis, which would have almost certainly have happened if we made it in. Eye tests matter, and although crazy things could always happen, we would have been at least 14 point underdogs against either bama or Clemson.

We suck again!

We are not the same team as week 2, Notre Dame will not become magically better between yesterday and the Championship game. They should be out.

Only Bama had a stronger Strength of Schedule than A&M

That may be true, but they still won. Had they not been in a conference championship game, ND is in no question. Never thought the committee would punish them for having to play Clemson twice. It's Ohio state that pisses me off but the committee has had them in front of us for several weeks.

If you really think that we were far and beyond better than ND, then there is no hope for you

This was a coin toss...everything about the two teams was comparable

At the end of the day, ND beat clemson (regardless of the circumstances) and made their CCG

We got obliterated by Alabama and didnt make our CCG

This is my point, the system is supposed to be better, they proved today they are not. We might as well go back to the old system.

Teams grow and change over the season. Week 2 is very different than. A Post Season game.

You ended up being right but their decision broke with their historical precedent of NOT ignoring conference championships.

The rationale for not giving ND a pass on this one was even stronger because they got lucky with all the Clemson personnel losses in round 1.

This system is worse. BCS ranking at least had no people in smoke-filled rooms screwing you. Neither the computers nor the polls were truly objective, but taken as a group of inputs they were difficult to corrupt the way the committee just did. This is as bad as the UN General Assembly.

Sankey owes us big time. He should be fired.

We need to have a class on understanding a calendar. We lost is October. They lost literally yesterday. It's just not that hard to understand
